You can replace the texts that you want to translate with translation results from DeepL (deepl.com) API keeping the original style.
On pdf, this extension displays a frame of translated sentences.
You can also use the DeepL API to translate document files.
【Text Translation】
・ Layout-oriented replacement mode (Page translation)
The text in the selected frame will be translated "while maintaining the original layout".
・ PDF mode
You can display the translation result on PDF.
The translation result can be moved freely by dragging and dropping, and the frame can be deleted by right-clicking.
・Text-oriented replacement mode
Right-click on the translation result to replace the original text, and right-click again to switch the display to the translation result.
・Transition mode (API_KEY not required)
Right-click on the selected text, and click `DeepL:selected text` to access "https://www.deepl.com/translator#ja/en/selected_text";.
【ShortCuts】
Several modes can be executed by shortcuts.
These shortcuts can be edited from chrome://extensions/shortcuts
- Layout-oriented replacement mode: Ctrl+Shift+L (⌘+Shift+L on mac)
- Text-oriented replacement mode: Ctrl+Shift+K (⌘+Shift+K on mac) twice within 1 second
※ In 1.2.8 and earlier, the shortcut for text-oriented replace mode was Ctrl+X.
The default is Ctrl+Shift+K since 1.2.9. Please be careful!
【Document translation】
You can translate ".docx, .pptx, .pdf, .txt, .htm, .html" documents while maintaining the layout.
【Options】
To change the settings, please right click the icon in the right-hand corner and select `Options`.
* Target language
You can change the language of the translated text by changing this setting.
* Translation icon
When "Enable", an icon will be displayed on the web page.
* HoverText
When "Enable", the original text is displayed under the translation (and vice versa) on text-oriented replacement mode.

Too bad because it's a good extension, but the arbitrary obligation to sign in google or microsoft sync is extremely annoying.

- (2021-05-31) Maximiliano Lira Del Canto: Mandatory sign in Chrome. I like that you can use the API, but I hate that you need to sign in chrome and have sync active. I think that goes against Chrome policies. The developers orders this so the extension can be in all devices you have.

- (2021-03-09) Albert: Best one click (right-click) translator extension out there. Although I don't use the API feature, I love how you can change the Target Language to your choosing. This is what other extension miss out on. I also appreciate how it allows us to disable the Translation icon when ever you have something highlighted.
