Image from store Autoplaylists for Google Music™
Description from store Adds user-defined autoplaylists to Google Play Music™. Called "Smart Playlists" in iTunes, these allow you to create a set of rules defining a playlist. Then, this extension ensures it always contain the right songs. For example, you could create a playlist that contains highly-rated songs you haven't listened to recently. Or, you could create one with all your highest rated songs of a particular genre. Now that Google Music has shut down it's available for free. This store listing may be removed in the future.

  • (2018-05-04) Sean Brown: Excellent! I love flexible search possibilities and I hate when services like Google Music don't provide them to me. Autoplaylist extension fixes this issue for me.
  • (2018-03-12) Justin Hall: $1.99/month. $23.88/year $47.76/2 years $71.63/3 years $95.52/4 years $119.40/5 years $143.28/6 years Google Play Music has been around for 6 years. I plan to continue using it for at least 6 years more. $143.28 for some custom playlists. *rubs bridge of nose* Dude.
  • (2017-09-23) Kyle Clark: This extension simply does not work for me. It is installed correctly, has access to my library, and allows me to create a playlist. The playlist, however, does not show up in Play Music no matter what I do. There is no troubleshooting or support that addresses this issue.
  • (2017-07-07) Rodger Hinson: This is a great extension that adds desperately needed functionality that Google Music lacks. Unfortunately, Google Music doesn't meet my needs, so I have to say goodbye to this extension.
  • (2017-07-01) Mark Mandel: Why does this need to suddenly see my browser history, as well as my email address at the same time? This seems like a privacy nightmare :/
  • (2017-06-29) What is up with all these extra permissions that were recently added??
  • (2017-05-30) Bram van Meerkerk: Great extension, I wish there was an option to pay a one time fee for the full version. Until then I'll probably keep using the free version.
  • (2017-05-11) Khalil Bey: The only thing missing is being able to build rules on existing playlists. w.r.t negative feedback on price — okay maybe this isn't twice as life-changing as a LastPass Premium, but that's not really how software (including SaaS) is priced. And for me, at least, it's still a small fee for the pleasure of never missing iTunes.
  • (2017-04-27) Kirill Kliavin: Exactly what i needed!
  • (2017-04-23) Jeremiah Miller: great to get past the 1000 song playlist limit
  • (2017-04-14) Евгений Поцелуев: unfortunatelly its crashing
  • (2017-04-04) Justin Swanson: Considering Google's lack of any good playlist systems, this tool is indispensable. The dev is extremely responsive at the moment, and developing actively. Worked with me daily until my specific bug was addressed. Kudos!
  • (2017-02-17) Richard Barrett-Small: Amazing idea and great implementation. Who thought this was even possible?
  • (2017-01-15) Good extension, but too expensive. If it was a one-time purchase, I would buy it. But it's just WAY too expensive for what it does (as many have pointed out!).
  • (2017-01-02) T&E RT: Indispensable pour gérer des playlists dans Google Play Music... fonctionne correctement, mais le prix (mensuel !) est un peu cher...
  • (2016-12-03) Cody Walton: I switched from iTunes to Google Music, and the one feature I really missed was smart playlist. thankfully this extension works great, and ALMOST replicates that functionality. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1 - You can't add playlists to playlists. For example, in iTunes I used to create a smart playlist that was simply a combination of other playlists: playlistA + playlistB = playlistAB. 2 - a $2 per month subscription seems a bit much. It would be better as a $1 per month, or perhaps a one-time payment of $20.
  • (2016-11-20) Kevin Gunnells: Seems to work reasonably well, but $2 per month is unreasonable. I would gladly pay a one time charge, but I will certainly pass on another continuous charge.
  • (2016-11-07) After years with Apple, i decided to leave. BUT i needed my smart playlists. I need my not played, playcount is 1, liked by genre etc. This just works, i couldn't be happier. Some changes would make some filters better. BUT AMAZING
  • (2016-10-31) Josh Pimental: This extension is amazing and I'm so thankful that feature can be brought over Play Music. But a monthly fee to use it. Thanks, But no thanks. I'll gladly just pay a one payment between $20-35 instead of monthly.
  • (2016-09-23) John H: I've been using this extension since it was in development and it works great. The only real limitation is not one of the extension but of the base product in that lists are limited to 1K entries. The lack smart playlists was something that kept me away from Google Music but with this I can dive right in. Definitely something Google should have baked into its product but very happy that we have this option. I would encourage you to reconsider the payment model though. 24 bucks a year is a bit hefty. I can see not wanting to do single purchase only but maybe a lower monthly rate in general with a discount for a yearly purchase. Or maybe a lower rate with the need to pay to unlock per feature or maybe per list.
  • (2016-09-22) Clément Hucbourg: Really great idea and app, but $2/m, it's a joke?
  • (2016-09-02) Anton Epp: Like the idea, but $2/m is way more than I'm willing to pay for this. Plus it stopped working after a day. The icon giving me access to the extension stays gray and I can't do anything with it anymore even after reboot and reinstall on two different machines.
  • (2016-08-17) Very nice idea but condition interface part need to be improved. Documentation on the bottom of the page about possible values for specific selectors is not always easy to notice.
  • (2016-06-22) Dave Dean: Seems to work fine, playlist on phone only seems to update when music open on pc. A one off payment would be worthwhile, monthly subscription far too expensive.
  • (2016-06-10) John Whiteside: This is FANTASTIC. Smart Playlists were the one thing that kept me using Apple Music on my Android phone and not switching entirely over to Play Music, and you've nailed it. Thanks so much! Three minutes after getting it and creating a playlist I went to the paid version.
