MeshVault Connect

MeshVault Connect links your browser to the MeshVault Windows app so you can capture 3D model downloads and save them straight into your local library.

When you download a supported model file, the extension passes the file to MeshVault along with useful model metadata such as the model title, source page, creator name, thumbnails, tags, description when available. MeshVault then imports the file into your selected library folder on your Windows PC.

MeshVault Connect is designed for makers, designers, collectors, and 3D printing users who want a cleaner way to keep downloaded models organized without manually moving and renaming files and keep it all in a well organized library with all the details for every model at your fingertips.

How it works:
- Install MeshVault from the Microsoft Store
- Install MeshVault Connect in Chrome (Pinning the extension is reccomended)
- Open MeshVault on your Windows PC
- Browse to a supported 3D model page
- Download a supported model file
- MeshVault Connect captures the download and sends it to MeshVault
- MeshVault imports the file into your local library with available metadata

Supports 29 file types, including:
Mesh formats: STL, 3MF
CAD/project formats: STEP, SCAD, F3D
Printer/CNC output: GCODE
Archives: ZIP, The MeshVault app will scan it for supported file.

Local connection:
MeshVault Connect communicates with the MeshVault Windows app running locally on your computer. The extension uses a local connection to send captured files and metadata straight from your broswer to MeshVault.

Privacy:
MeshVault Connect is built to support local library organization. Model files are sent to the MeshVault Windows app running on your own computer. No data is ever sent or collected.

Notes:
- MeshVault Connect requires the MeshVault Windows app to be installed and running.
- Site layouts and download systems can change, so metadata capture may vary by site or model page.
- Some private or account-only models may expose less metadata than public model pages.
- When downloading personal or owned models from Cults3D it needs to be done via the model's page
- If the MeshVault app is not running, downloads can continue through the browser normally.
