Brightspot Toolkit is the browser companion for Brightspot CMS editors and developers. It bridges the gap between your live website and the CMS, eliminating friction from your daily workflow.
Personas & Panels: Configure the Brightspot Toolkit to match your role—choose from presets for Editors, Marketers, QA, and Developers, each with a curated set of panels (SEO, accessibility, performance, and more). You can further customize which panels are active and reset to your persona's defaults at any time.
Edit in CMS: When you're browsing a Brightspot-powered page, the extension automatically detects the content and gives you a direct Edit in CMS button. One click takes you straight to the content editor—no more hunting through the CMS to find the right page. You can set up hostname mappings to connect any frontend domain to its corresponding CMS.
Content & SEO Panels: - SEO – Check your SEO fundamentals like title tags, meta descriptions, and heading structure.
- GEO – Verify structured data markup including Schema.org, FAQ content, and breadcrumbs.
- Images – Review image optimization covering alt text, lazy loading, and file sizes. - Accessibility – Scan for accessibility issues including missing alt text and form labels.
Performance Panel: Integrates with Google PageSpeed Insights to analyze Core Web Vitals including TTFB (server response time), LCP (when main content becomes visible), and CLS (visual stability). Sparkline charts show trends as you navigate pages, helping you spot regressions before they impact users.
Developer Panels: - Developer Tools – Quick access to JSON views, styleguide output, raw content data, and QR code generation—all one click away.
- Page JS – View all JavaScript loaded on the page, grouped by domain. Useful for auditing third-party scripts and identifying what's running on your site.
- Activity – Logs your recent actions like edits, JSON views, and styleguide checks, making it easy to pick up where you left off.
Support Panel: Includes quick-access tools that generate standardized technical artifacts directly from the browser.
Module Edit Overlays: Module-level edit overlays via contentId exposure on Lists, Promos, and other components.
Quick Links: Save links to pages you visit frequently, giving you fast access to your CMS dashboard, documentation, or any other URL.
