Roll Call Beacon is a browser extension for teachers who need random roll call support on university attendance pages. After the user clicks the extension, it locally detects student entries on the current attendance record page and randomly samples students by fixed count, percentage, or golden ratio.
After sampling, the extension only highlights the selected student entries on the page. It does not check attendance checkboxes, submit forms, modify attendance records, upload student names or IDs, or send page content to any server.
Key features:
- Random sampling by fixed count, defaulting to 10 students.
- Random sampling by percentage, defaulting to 10%.
- Golden ratio sampling based on the number of detected candidates.
- Automatic clearing of the previous highlight before each new sample.
- Popup summary showing detected candidate count and selected sample count.
