Collections

Edge removed Collections in version 149. This brings it back.

Collections is a sidebar for keeping what you find while you browse. Drag a link, a selected passage or an image from any page into the panel and it lands in the collection you are working on: a trip, a purchase you are comparing, a project you are researching. One click saves the page you are on. Right-click anything and choose "Save to Collections" when dragging is not convenient.

Bring your old collections with you
If you exported your Edge Collections before they disappeared, Settings imports that file. If you did not, it can also read the database Edge left behind in your profile folder, which brings back the images the export never had. Either way your old collections come across with their names, links, notes and pictures.

How you work with it

As many collections as you need. Switch between them from the panel heading, or press Ctrl+K to jump to any collection or item
Open a whole collection at once as a named tab group or in a new window, or save every open tab into a collection
Turn a collection into a checklist for a trip or a shopping list, with select all, clear all and remove done
Reorder items by dragging, or with Move up and Move down
Move an item to another collection without losing your place
Copy a collection, or all of them, as Markdown and paste it into your notes app
Open the panel from the toolbar icon or with Alt+Shift+C
Where your data lives
Everything is stored in your browser profile on this computer. No account, no sign-up, nothing sent to a server. Your collections are yours, and Copy as Markdown gets them out again whenever you want, in plain text, with no lock-in.

Collections does one thing: it gives you somewhere to put things while you browse. No tags, no feeds, no AI, no subscription.
