Description from store TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR EMAIL TASKS From your Gmail inbox, action those day to day Tasks that are important to you and the business people around you. Track Task progress at a glance without the need to trawl through email threads. Schedule Tasks and other emails to be sent automatically at a future time. ** WHAT’S NEW ** - Send Later date times - the Sender is now able to schedule any email (whether a Task or not) to be sent automatically at a future date/time in a specified timezone - Identify Task Emails in your Gmail Inbox - the aCompass icon will now be shown on emails that have a task associated with them, along with a button to show the task in the sidebar. - Identify Task Status in your Gmail Sent list, and Scheduled Tasks in your Gmail Drafts list - aCompass users can optionally enable the application of status labels (Scheduled, Unread, Read, Done) to task emails. Status labels can also be seen when viewing your sent emails on the Mobile Gmail App! - Google Notifications - aCompass users can optionally receive Google Notifications for key task lifecycle events such as assignment, completion or deletion. - Received email tracking - aCompass task recipients can optionally allow aCompass to notify the task sender when the received task email is opened. - Turn existing email into task - any email in a user’s inbox can now be turned into a task and sent to any other person. - Automatic Self Reminders - the Sender of a task with a due date can optionally specify that aCompass should send them a reminder notification when the task is nearing its due date and has not yet been marked as complete. - Take a Tour - the 'Take a Tour' option is available from the sidebar menu. It will take you around the extension, showing all our features in action **** **PREVIOUS UPDATES** - Multiple Account Logins - aCompass now works when you are signed-in to multiple Gmail accounts at once - Persistence of Sort, Filter Options - aCompass now saves your Sort and Filter options across all sessions and devices - Deletion of Completed Task by Recipient - a Recipient may now Delete a Completed Task from their aCompass sidebar. This will not affect the Sender’s copy of the Task. - Due date times - the Sender is now able to add a time to the due date of a Task - Time Zones - the Sender can now add a due date in a specified timezone - Task Drafts - when a draft is saved, aCompass will remember if it was a Task and if it had a Due Date or Send Later date so you can carry on from where you left off. - Calendar Events - tasks with Due Date can now optionally have a Google Calendar event associated with them. **** COMPOSE EMAIL TASKS - Compose your email as normal then click the aCompass button on the toolbar to make the email into a Task. - Optionally set a Due Date. - Optionally set a Self Reminder Date. If a task with a Due Date has not been marked as complete by the time of the Self Reminder Date, then aCompass will automatically send a Reminder notification to the Sender. - Send a Task to one or more Recipients. A Recipient can be anyone with an email address. There is no requirement for a Recipient to have aCompass installed at the other end. They don’t even need to use Gmail. - Optionally set a Send Later Date. The email will be saved as a Draft, and will be Sent automatically at the Send Later Date. The Send Later feature can also be used on non-task emails. TRACK EMAIL TASKS IN GMAIL SIDEBAR Click on the aCompass icon to open the sidebar on the right side of your screen. In the sidebar you can see a list of your Sent and Received Tasks showing exactly where each Task is up to. For Sent Tasks see: - the overall State of the Task - each Recipient avatar or initials and email address - if/when each Recipient has opened the email* - if/when each Recipient has marked the Task as complete - if the Task is Overdue For Received Tasks see: - the Sender avatar or initials and email address - if/when you opened the email* - if/when you Marked the Task as Complete - if the Task is Overdue *subject to the Recipient’s permission, browser and/or mail client settings VIEW DUE DATE OF EMAIL TASKS IN GOOGLE CALENDAR When the Sender adds a Due Date to a Task, they can optionally add an associated Google Calendar event as well. Click on the Calendar icon to open the Calendar sidebar on the right side of your screen, or view the Google Calendar app. On the Due Date of the Task there will be a calendar event. The calendar event will generate the default reminders (if any) that you have configured in your Google Calendar settings. The calendar event will be removed automatically when the corresponding Task is Deleted or Completed. FOCUS ON THE TASKS CURRENTLY IMPORTANT TO YOU In the sidebar you can click the Settings button to optionally Filter the Tasks list on State, Recipient, and Sender. For example you can Filter the list to show only unfinished Tasks. You can also optionally Sort the list by State, Due Date, Recipient, Sender, Sent Time, or Subject. Your chosen Sort, Filter options will persist across sessions and devices. MANAGE SENT TASKS Click on a Sent Task in the Tasks list to see more Task Details and to access additional functions. - View Message - navigate straight to the email message thread in Gmail. - Add/change/remove a Due Date* - Reassign a Task - Send a Reminder* - Delete the Task* - Add/change/remove a Self Reminder Date *All you need to do is click a button. Each Task Recipient will automatically be sent an email advising them of your action. If the Task Recipient is signed-up to aCompass they will get an aCompass Notification instead of an email. Or you can select multiple Tasks in the list and Delete all of them at the same time. COMPLETE RECEIVED TASKS Click on a Received Task in the Tasks list to see more Task Details and to access additional functions. - View Message - navigate straight to the email message thread in Gmail. - Mark as Complete* - Delete a Completed Task from the sidebar *All you need to do is click a button. The Task Sender will automatically be sent an aCompass Notification advising them of your action. Or you can select multiple Tasks in the list and mark them all as complete at the same time. VIEW RECENT ACTIVITY In the sidebar you can switch between Tasks view and Notifications view. Notifications view shows a list of aCompass Notifications relating to events in the lifecycle of your Sent and Received Tasks. Click on a Notification to show the corresponding Task Details. RECEIVE CHROME NOTIFICATIONS IN YOUR BROWSER In the sidebar you can click the Settings button to optionally allow Chrome Notifications relating to events in the lifecycle of your Sent and Received Tasks to pop-up whilst you are logged-in to aCompass in Chrome. EASILY IDENTIFY AND CREATE TASKS IN YOUR INBOX Task Emails in your Inbox are easily identified via the aCompass icon. Hover the mouse over any email and an aCompass button will appear in the hover menu. If the email corresponds to an existing aCompass task then clicking on the aCompass button will open the task in the aCompass sidebar. If the email does not correspond to an existing task then clicking on the aCompass button will open a dialog allowing the user to make the email into a task and send it to any other person. EASILY IDENTIFY TASK STATUS IN YOUR DRAFTS AND SENT ITEMS LISTS In the sidebar you can click the Settings button to optionally enable the application of aCompass labels to the task emails you send. In the Drafts list emails/tasks you have configured to be sent later will be labelled as ‘Scheduled’ In the Sent Items list tasks will be labelled according to their prevailing status (Unread, Read, Done). Status labels can also be seen when viewing your sent emails on the Mobile Gmail App! WHAT OTHER FEATURES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN aCOMPASS? aCompass is under continuous development.
