Chat Restyler for YouTube makes YouTube Live Chat easier to follow with a cleaner, Twitch-inspired layout.
Choose between comfortable, compact, and ultra-compact density levels. Give each viewer a consistent username color, highlight only the mentions addressed to you (or all mentions) and reduce visual noise with optional alternating rows.
Everything is configurable from a simple control panel. You can toggle username colors, underlining, mentions, avatars, member badges, and system messages. Changes apply instantly without reloading the page.
The extension automatically follows YouTube’s light or dark theme.
Privacy-first: no data collection, analytics, tracking, external servers, or network requests. Visible author names and message text are processed only inside the open chat page to apply colors and detect mentions. They are never stored or transmitted.
Your preferences are saved using the browser’s synchronization storage.
