Ever watched a YouTube video and wondered: Is that actually true?
VeriTube helps you investigate the claims made in YouTube videos using AI-powered analysis and publicly available sources — without leaving YouTube.
🔎 Fact-check YouTube videos in a few clicks
Open a YouTube video, click CHECK IT, and VeriTube analyzes the video's captions to identify factual claims worth examining.
For each claim, VeriTube can provide:
🧠 AI-powered claim analysis
🔎 Evidence from publicly available sources
📚 Links to supporting sources
📊 An overall integrity score
📝 A clear, readable explanation of the findings
📌 Claim-by-claim results in a convenient side panel
⚡ How it works
1. Watch a YouTube video
Find a video you want to investigate.
2. Click CHECK IT
VeriTube uses the video's available captions to identify claims that can be fact-checked.
3. Review the evidence
The extension analyzes claims and provides relevant sources and explanations.
4. Make your own judgment
Review the evidence, explore the sources, and decide what you think.
🎯 Built for critical thinking
VeriTube is designed to help you look beyond a video's presentation and examine the information behind it.
It's useful for:
News and current events
Educational videos
Science and technology
History and documentaries
Commentary and opinion
Tutorials and explainers
Research and learning
Media literacy and critical thinking
📊 See the bigger picture
Instead of manually checking every statement in a long video, VeriTube gives you a structured overview of the claims it identifies.
Explore individual claims, review the available evidence, and see how the findings contribute to the video's overall integrity score.
🛡️ Your research assistant — not the final authority
AI-powered fact checking has limitations.
VeriTube does not guarantee that a claim is true or false, and its results should not be treated as professional fact-checking or definitive conclusions.
Always review the underlying sources and use your own judgment.
🚀 Start fact-checking YouTube videos
Install VeriTube and try it on a YouTube video you want to investigate.
Watch. Check. Explore the evidence. Think for yourself.

- It just opens as a side panel without distracting. As ai slop is trully destroying one of the only platform where there was a possibility of getting legit good content. Integrity check and manipulated feature helped me with not wasting time on illogical contents. Its totally free. Also if i had to report to youtube regarding useless content i can just copy paste the report provided by it and send it to google.

- One of the legit problems if youtube is AI slope which is basically try copy version of famous and anctual legit youtuber like fern or kurzgesagt.in these 30% ai slope it is a legit need to fact everything.Sometimes i even cant tell apart which is ai or which is legit human made fact checked video. I liked with this extension that there is a integrity criteria and for ai slopes its always 1 and i dont continue watch that video.Even though youtube tells this is video AI made but algo is not always correct.Suggested add on.

- VeriTube reads the captions of whatever YouTube video you are watching and checks its claims against public sources, then shows a side panel with five integrity scores, claim notes, a separate rhetoric flag, and a summary for long uploads. The first check ran without an account, so I saw the report field fill in before deciding anything. I read the permissions first, and nothing there surprised me. It is a literacy aid, not a verdict. The score sits at the top of the panel while the video keeps playing.

- i watch a lot of scientific content on youtube and i sometimes come across videos with misleading or false claims i often need to check their sources, so having a tool that helps identify and verify claims is useful i like that veritube provides claimlevel checks and sources in one place making the process much easier

- I tested VeriTube on a youtube video and was impressed with how detailed the report was It identified specific claims, provided sources to check them, and clearly separated verified claims from ones that could not be confirmed I also liked that it was transparent about the limits of transcript based analysis.
