- Zero stars if I could. Software has not been working for the past few weeks, so I haven't been able to take my final exams. Support with the onboarding is no help since they have no idea what is going on. pls fix
- Adri
- I get that your software is down, thats fine, but please let the professors know this. I am struggling to get my professors to reschedule their exams because of this issue.

- Everything was perfect for me, I was patience with the operator during inspection in order to avoid exam malpractices. The 120mins for the midterm exam was good for me because I answered all the questions within 60mins and had enough time to check all my answers before submission. My result was 430/ 500 which was 86%. I will be back for my 700 points final exam in March 2026. Thank you!

- Spent an hour troubleshooting before a major exam. The extension does not work despite being installed. The person who helped me via support was great but this extension is not functional.
- LavaCraft Bedrock
- This extension is the worst. It does not work at all. Here is the list of issues I had with it: The mic check screen does not work. (You choose your mic, play the chime, then nothing happens) You get stuck after sharing your screen. (After sharing my screen I got given an infinite loader that never stopped) They say your internet is too slow when it's not. (I got kicked off the test for a 500mb/s download and 200mb/s upload) And the test randomly stops saying you pressed the stop sharing button from the Chrome menu when I have not pressed the button, left the tab, turned off my screen or done anything else. I apologize to anyone who has to use this joke of an extension. Would be zero stars if I could as this just does not work.
- Nick Dusenbery
- Would be a zero if I could. There is a ridiculous amount of privacy concerns with this as I believe a testing extension shouldn't have the permissions to change all my website's data and mess with my computers apps. This is a huge breach in privacy that I had to suck up for my final exam, which is where the real fun starts. I got through most of it, but then it couldn't pick up my computer's built in microphone. I tested it in the settings app and it was absolutely fine, but for some reason the extension refused to pick it up no matter what mic option I chose. This issue caused me to hit a roadblock and I couldn't do my final exam, so I'm not sure what to do now. This mic issue seems to be common as I saw more reviews with this mentioned. But I really do love getting my privacy be invaded, only to miss the final exam and have it invaded for absolutely nothing. So fun!!! The cherry on top is that I had to pay for this session, only to have a joke of an extension be used that doesn't work and wastes my time.

- PISS POOR BROWSER. SIGNED ME OUT OF EVERYTHING. DONT USE
- Ethan Thoren
- One of the most hilariously bad services I've ever used. Piss poor in every conceivable manner. It fails to serve its only purpose. Should frankly be shut down entirely.
- Justin HENDERSON
- Worst testing experience I've ever had. Wasted an attempt because the service was too buggy to paste the exam code.
- Emilee Frugoli
- I literally have MAX internet speed but yet somehow don't have the connectivity to do a room scan. This extension is a JOKE.
- Anna McKay
- I love paying extra money as broke college student this semester because of my tough personal life requiring me to have to stay home and support my family while working a job I spend hours at, just to be punished by having all my privacy invaded.
- Italy Landry
- WISH I COULD GIVE IT A ZERO STAR BC BY FAR THIS IS THE WORST BROWSER!
- Solomon Temesgen
- chrom is verey inpotrant
- CHRISTIAN RAPP
- Microphone not detecting, should be this companies motto. My microphone is detected by my PC and every other app on my PC just not SmarterProctoring... Their support is nonexistent and not adequate. When your supposed to be taking a test, they'll have you reset your computer, you browser, your cookies and that still won't work. How about using a a different device? Even if you are fortunate to have another one... it still doesn't work. I hope my school never makes a deal with this service or company again.

- The last thing I need is to have technical difficulties five minutes before I have to take a Physics exam. By the time I get to the exam, I'm already exhausted from the anxiety of dealing with this extension. The audacity of this developer to produce such a poor tool and then spread it around our education system like a strain of smallpox we can't shake is infuriating. Google needs to remove it from the store.
- Javier Cortazar
- Just terrible. The reviews speaks for themselves. Whoever was responsible for allowing this to be the medium for test taking should reconsider their career path. This has disconnected me 5 times.
- Dunya Ali
- If I could give it a 0 out of 5, I would. I just took my exam on here because my professor gave me no other choice. First of all, it is very expensive as a college student—so much more expensive than on Honorlock. And it's absolutely not OK to be having a student pay that much for a test that they need to take three times a semester. It's not like I like Honorlock, but Honorlock is 10 times lower in cost than this. Let's get started on how it was before I even started my exam. I looked to see when my test would be the day before my exam to make sure everything was correct, and it's scheduled me for an hour earlier than I signed up for. On the day of my exam, I got ready to take my exam an hour earlier, and it went and said it's been pushed back to the regular time. So I had to wait until I could take it at my normal time. I then proceeded to open the exam, and it was so unprofessional and honestly disgusting. The lady I was with had me sit here and unplug and remove everything around me—my PC, which I proved was off, had to be unplugged, my everything—and had me remove decorations in my room. I was asked to show my computer screen with my phone or a handheld mirror. Which I don't have. So I offered to get up and show her through my regular mirror on my wall, which took 10 minutes for her to check with her supervisor to see if that was OK. Mind you, none of this was told to me when I checked on the simulation checking. Had me showing my ID twice, for some reason, which made me very uncomfortable. The first was just to look at it. The second was to take a photo. Also, the area that the lady was in was also very loud, so it was hard to hear her. As the proctor was checking my room, I was told to carry some things in order for her to check under them. I told her that I could not do it, and she proceeded to tell me, "No, you can do it." An example of this was showing her the things that are under the decorations on my desk; I told her that my laptop is heavy and that I will need to put it down to show her. She then proceeded to say, "No, you can do it"???? This is not the time for you to be motivating me to carry my laptop and hold something else at the same time. Also, the proctor wanted to look throughout my drawer because I left it open on accident. And by the end of this whole thing, which took 20 minutes, I was so stressed out and so uncomfortable, and I hadn't even started my exam yet. And for when I was taking my exam, it kept messing around with my screen, leading me to be even more stressed out by the fact that I couldn't do anything about it and I just had to wait until it stopped and for me to continue taking my exam. And by the time I was done, I messaged the proctor, telling her that I was done. She didn't answer, so I had to, like, speak up and tell her that I was done, and just trying to say that I was done took me, like, 3 tries.

- An absolute scam. Even on the best possible connection (I can run full audio/video conferencing and multitask at work for hours with no interruptions), it disconnects constantly, kicking me out of my exams. Even on a direct Ethernet connection, with no disruption on any other device, they randomly disconnect. Their support is unhelpful, simply insisting the problem must be on the user's end and shrugging their shoulders. They cost me all my exam retakes, putting me out hundreds of dollars. To all schools thinking about integrating this extension, you WILL have a spike in students who can no longer access their exams. It's more trouble than its worth.
- Andrea Wilson
- it kicked me out of my mid term and i cant get back in
- Jonathan mark Policarpio
- Garbage
- Baldo Minaudo
- This is absolute garbage. It is a significant obstacle for completing the course and exam requirements. They need to assign someone for the user experience and to make sure all the bugs and vagueness of the system are eliminated. This is NOT user friendly and it has many bugs in it that can stop you from continuing your exams.
- Devin Sambogna
- absolute garbage
- Mike Walmsley
- It works at random.
- CHRISTOPHER OSUANAH
- Nightmare fuel trying to do anything with this God forsaken company. One star of five is egregiously generous .
- CALLIE
- I got kicked out of one of my exams because of my internet connection. My internet was fine. It was on their end. I only had two more questions left and I couldn't take the test anymore. I was able to retake the test but it's still annoying. I also don't like how they talked to me. They could be nicer.
- Tan Huynh
- I would give them a 0 if I could with this garbage company. The only reason my university uses their service is because they are cheap compared to Honorlock. Their support service is totally a joke, and be aware—you can be kicked out during your exam even if you have no problems with your internet connection.
- Derrick Hallvc
- Worst experience EVER...ran the system check 5 times 30min before my test time...Got to the exam Start time it buffered on the same screen for 25 min. Reinstalled and same issue SAVE YOURSELF go do your exam in person no matter what it takes!!!!
- Julie Tyrakowski
- Absolutely terrible. Tried using for 2 different exams. I was using corporate level wifi. Everything checked fine in the system check then the proctor is choppy and falls off. They blamed my internet both times. A huge scam, waste of time and money.
- Mya Holman
- i have agoraphobia but am trying to get a degree and have to take proctored exams as a result. This is the only "product" that is apparently available and every single time I use it I have an issue which is always blamed on me. I have 600mbps and am only connected to my computer every time i start this up. Once it took over an hour for them to get it together, thus resulting in me panicking (unfortunate and uncontrolable) and failing the midterm. Ive been told I was going to get a refund multiple times as well, to no avail. If you are someone who has an option on products, or a school trying to decide also stay far away from this company. It is a waste of time and the workers are RUDE and INCONSIDERATE.
- Elijah Newall
- Only good thing about it was that everyone got a good score on their test as the product failed. Hopefully it got better because I have another test coming up with it
- Kiiani
- I've never written a review on a product before so I will be as genuine as I can be when I say this. This app USED to work almost flawlessly some years back (2020 - 2021) when I started my college testing. The key word here is "USED" to work, it's horrible to use now, I can't even screen share unless one of my attempts magically works and I would say I'm tech savvy. I restarted chrome, my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled and it still seems to only work by random chance. This is bad software and I don't know if it was because of a chrome update or an extension update but this is not, in any way, shape, or form a good app to use and god forbid you decide to use it come the day of testing. Please fix the app or at least allow students to use other options. This is ridiculous...
- Nic Peterson
- If there is any other option than this bogus organization please utilize it. Malware interface, humiliating and invasive check in process, foreign nationals evaluating government issued documents that can approve or deny based on a whim. A state department issued ID was declined! They take pictures of your ID. They store these photos, likely in an offshore location, you have ZERO control over your data once it is provided. If they get hacked it's your problem. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
- Jeffery Campbell
- I guess there is no option for zero stars. This extension is just a money grab and scam, cleverly disguised as usable application. The fact that some institutions (including colleges and governments) use this garbage is a testament to how poorly managed these sectors are in the today's modern age. They didn't even offer me or allow me to get a refund -- can you imagine...
- jordon posey
- Trash tier program. Tried running it on two separate computers with different connections each time and the loading wheel just kept spinning. If you have the option, go with ProctorU instead. My original test time slot timed out and all SmarterProctoring did was offer a refund (and I'm surprised they did that.)
- Tyler Hanson
- basically malware, far too invasive.
- Daniel Yo
- bad
- Annie :D
- Terrible just terrible..... I would do 0 stars if possible but that isnt.
- Amanda Jones
- If there was a zero star option that would be my choice. So many issues, very stressful and aggravating that by the time it works properly you're beyond over it and done. All these reviews are accurate!
- Emma Kane
- invasive and glitchy.
- Joslyn Collins
- If I could give something zero stars, it would be this. The worst extension, website, everything I've EVER used. It should be a crime that I have to use this for school. It freezes up on me a few times every test, even after a good internet check. A few times, its ended my exams early. I get the extension and then for some reason, my extension is my issue???? If it were up to me, this would be wiped from existence. I have cried becuase of this thing more times than i can count from it messing up my tests. I've also had a few times that it left during my test for bad connection, but the test was still open. Wasn't that the whole point of the extension/ service. I hope my school doesn't pay money for this because you couldn't pay me to use it if it wasn't required for my testing.
- Skarrum
- Overly intrusive proctoring service that borders on malware, and it still locks up 2-3 times every time I got to use it. Even on a fresh windows 11 install with a fresh chrome install.
- Dax Mashburn
- Kicked me out of my exam twice for "bad connection" even though I have over 950kb internet speeds. After the second time my exam was marked as completed and I was unable to try again. Thanks for the F smarterproctoring
- Rett
- For some ungodly reason, this extension seems to delete cookies/cache on websites that don't even use it, logs me out of most websites (such as Twitter), and it seemed to have completely deleted my profiles that I setup on Chrome Aside from the sheer invasion of privacy, which is a given considering what kind of extension this is, there is literally no reason for this this extension to do ANYTHING more than that.
- Landon Gnade
- Horrible, Restrictions to the point to where if you dont have top of the line internet than you cant use it.
