Subtitle Lens translates subtitles on popular streaming websites in real time, displaying the translation in a clean overlay while hiding the original text. Completely FREE — no account, no subscription, no API key required.

Enable the extension, turn on subtitles on any supported site, and your chosen language appears automatically.

Translation uses Chrome's built-in on-device translator when available — instant, private, and works offline. On devices without it installed, translation falls back to MyMemory, a free online translation service.

Supported languages include Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Portuguese, and many more.

Customise the overlay appearance with font size, vertical position, background opacity, and text shadow controls.

Privacy: when using the built-in translator, no data ever leaves your device. When using MyMemory as a fallback, subtitle text is sent only to MyMemory for translation. No personal data is collected or stored by this extension.
