Why does AdGuard require permissions?
"Access your data for all websites" and "Access browser tabs": both permissions are necessary for AdGuard to apply all kinds of cosmetic processing to the pages' content. Naive ad blocking would simply block ad servers, and leave broken elements and first-party ads on the pages. AdGuard applies special cosmetic rules to make pages look clean and tidy.
"Access browser activity during navigation": this permission is necessary to keep track of navigation events in order to apply rules when the time is right.

- It seems Facebook did something and now AdGuard won't block the Sponsored ad at the top right. May I know is there any setting that I need to adjust or the dev will update the version to "resolve" this issue? Thanks

- Finally broke down and grabbed a blocker - I'm okay-ISH with ads when stuff is free, I'm willing to sit through it for a service but I swear the YT ads are so unbelievably frequent and obnoxious. I don't need THE SAME ad literally every 5-10 minutes over and over and over, it's incredibly distracting. If you won't be reasonable with ads then I won't watch them.

- this might honestly be the best and most versatile any adblocker can get, you can basically customize everything just from the extension, and you can even use their private dns server without installing anything, on basically any device, i'd highly recommend using adguard adblocker, ive been using it for years and it works like a charm.

- In my case. I can't use it. I'm using uBlock Origin instead as it's still updated. And this is why I can't use it. There's an annoying pop up message from Adguard each time I visit a website: "The browser has modified the list of active filters. The limit of active built-in rules was exceeded after an update or adding a new extension. As per Manifest V3, your Chrome browser reacted by disabling all the extension's built-in filters except the default ones. "Rule limit exceeded in AdGuard Browser Extension. Please check your filters and disable the ones you don't need" — MV3 script limitation". Below is what has been automatically disabled by Adguard: Online Malicious URL Blocklist Phishing URL Blocklist Scam Blocklist by DurableNapkin uBlock Origin – Badware risks Dandelion Sprout's Anti-Malware List Adguard wants me to pay for the app and says: "Install the AdGuard Ad Blocker app: it has no restrictions on filtering rules. Get the AdGuard app". Extension is uninstalled. I'll probably switch to another browser once uBlock stops being updated.

- Best adblocker in my opinion, but the Chrome extension has an issue with clogging space on my SSD. I checked why my Chrome folder was 7GB and 4GBs of that were different versions of the AdGuard extension.

- Bro, I love Adguard. Have installed it on each of my devices. I was fed up with youtube ads and now I am very happy. I was also fed up with ads which come on these phishy "free movie"' websites where they redirect you to an ad every time you click a button. I just hope Adguard is secure and safe which I believe it to be.
