Introduces Touch controls to Roll20

Image from store Touch20
Description from store Touch20 - Touchscreen support for Roll20 Touch20 is an extension for Google Chrome which adds touchscreen support to Roll20. Features: * Drag and Drop your characters to move them * Pan the map with two fingers to move the viewport * Pinch with two fingers to zoom in or out - this will only work correctly if you select "Use Scroll to Zoom" in "My Settings". * Long-press to activate the right-click menu * Enlarged the left-hand toolbar to make the icons easier to hit using the touch controls * Full support for both fingers and styluses (pens) * [New in 1.1.0] Touch also works in dialogs (i.e. Turn Order, Character sheets, ...) and the assets menu * [New in 1.2.0] Hides the player names at the bottom of the viewport if the setting "Player video/avatar size" is set to "Names only" (to save space on smaller touchscreen devices) * [New in 1.3.0] All modifier keys (CTRL, SHIFT, ALT, META) are now forwarded correctly and work as if you were using a mouse. Thus drawing circles is now possible! If you play Pen & Paper or Tabletop games online, you probably know about Roll20 (https://roll20.net/). It's a tremendous system for bringing players from all over the world to one table and going on an adventure. I was part of an online Pen & Paper roleplaying group. After three years of playing online, we decided to take our game to the next level and meet up in real life. To be able to play our favorite game at a real table, we wanted to use my convertible laptop as a big touchscreen device in the center of the table. Unfortunately, Roll20 doesn't support touch screens - neither with a stylus nor with bare fingers. But fear not - Touch20 is here! If you want to show your support for this extension in a financial manner, feel free to visit the project’s GitHub page and donate via PayPal (not required at all though): https://github.com/Oromis/touch20

  • (2022-01-05) Adam DiLeo: Really solid extension. Just wish there was a way to use a stylus to control the built in Roll20 drawing tools. Drawing with a mouse yields some pretty gnarly maps. :)
  • (2021-05-19) Scott Jennings: I paired this with the Kiwi Browser on my Android Tablet. The touch zoom works beautifully!! I'm very happy!!
  • (2020-12-18) listick music: i'm sure it worked for everyone else but i could not even OPEN it idk why but hope it did work anyway
  • (2020-12-11) Martin Bergeron: Perfect with a stylus instead of a mouse / trackpad, thank you!
  • (2020-10-07) Kevin Richard: I'm building an RPG game table for hybrid online & in person game sessions. Some of my players are local and come over to play at the table, while others are in different states or just can't make the trip. So for the in person table I'm using a 50" LCD screen mounted in the tabletop with an IR frame for the touch interface and Touch20 makes it all possible. Players can move their tokens at the table just like the old days with dry erase markers, mats and miniatures. While the remote players who we also Zoom into the play session can interact with the map and tokens.
  • (2020-09-16) Kevin Gates: I installed the extension with little expectation and high hopes. I was thrilled to see everything worked exactly as advertised. I am using an Acer 27' monitor as a table top for in person sessions. I remove the UI using the bookmarklet found on the Roll20 site and an account that has control over all characters on the screen. Players can move their PCs, I can move monsters, it works like a charm. The only thing missing is a place to contribute to encourage David to keep the extension current when Roll20 updates. Highly recommended!
  • (2020-07-27) Miguel Ángel Purriños Vera: Una maravilla
  • (2020-07-14) Guy Cayton: This is no longer working for me. Worked great until about a month ago.
  • (2020-04-11) Rob Giusti: THANK YOU!
  • (2020-04-09) Jonathan Giordano: Great implementation of touch and stylus support, but it removes the video chat windows. I get that if you're using Roll20 locally, those are unneeded, but I would like to use my stylus AND see my players for our remote game. If I could do this, it would be an instant 5 stars.
  • (2020-03-23) Jason Fort: When using the Microsoft Surface Pen to draw on my Windows Surface Pro Roll20/Touch20 does not recognize that Shift and Alt are being pressed meaning that I cannot draw shapes to grid or circles/ellipses respectively. This also means that I cannot use the Draw Polygon feature to grid with my Pen. Shift and Alt also do not work with my finger attempting to draw these same objects. Shift and Alt work normally with the track pad, and when hovering with the Surface Pen the cursor indicates that Shift and Alt are being pressed but this is not reflected on the VTT response. I am uncertain if this is on Touch20 or Roll20. If this could be resolved 5 stars for sure, its great and really helpful and I will be at least able to run the game from my Surface, but I will probably have to build my maps on my desktop. As a player: awesome, as a DM, less so. I hope you and yours are well in this difficult season.
  • (2020-02-05) Thank you so much. I was fiddling with so many so many settings trying to simulate this.... works perfectly and saved me so many headaches.
  • (2019-11-24) Matthew Gordy: You fixed it. God among men.
  • (2019-11-10) Nick Gottier: I love you.
  • (2019-10-22) Lex Boother: Only been playing with it a little bit so far, but it let me use my Surface Pro 4 stylus again, so A++ for that!
  • (2019-10-16) Jack Gilbert: EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you so much!

  • (2022-10-02, v:1.3.1) Kevin Jambor: Extension no longer works with Surface Pen
This was the greatest extension I've ever installed, but it stopped working around September 2022 for me. I tried again now in October, but it is still broken. Neither touch nor pen work for drawing freehand in Roll20. It is so sad.
  • (2022-09-18, v:1.3.1) Jean Marie Fecho: Touch screen not working with Roll20
The other commenters are correct, touch screen is not functioning now as it was a short time ago. Touch screen works fine with other apps. On Roll20, you can select an icon, but not able to deselect it, or move it with you fingers. Mouse is ok. Any tricks to try ?

  • (2021-06-03, v:1.3.1) Kent Malosh: Can't access the settings
I just found out about/downloaded this extension and I have to say, I'm thrilled to find something that makes using touchscreens on Roll20 a possibility. However, I noticed that some of the functions need to be turned on in the settings, but I can't access settings for the extension? When I click on the extension it shows "options" but it is greyed out and I cannot select it. Is there something I am missing?

  • (2021-02-13, v:1.3.1) Markus Engler: absolutely love it
but it would be even better, if the size of the left hand side bar wasn't increased. and I also can't close the page selecter, because the close button is off screen (I assume that's also because that's also bigger somehow)

  • (2020-11-22, v:1.3.1) Kevin Richard: Ping with Touch
Not sure its even possible given the limited functionality for touch with Roll20 but it would be great if there was a way to execute a tabletop ping using Touch20. We use Touch20 with a digital gaming table and it is a god send to allowing players to interact with the map. The only functionality that is sorely missed is being able to ping the map so those playing remote can see. Even if there was a key modifier that could be pressed like when you want to mark out a path, my suggestion for a great plugin that allowed my digital gaming table concept to become a reality. Thank you for creating the Touch20 extension.

Last time I tested your extension worked fine but now i can't drag and drop the tokens. other functions of your extensions do seem to work. Do you know if maybe roll20 updated something or what may cause this problem? Cheers Sam ramsdonck
