Divert attention from social media websites towards learning a new language
The Distraction Shield is a browser extension designed to take advantage of our human nature. It is a very common scenario to find ourselves browsing sites such as Facebook or Reddit while we are supposed to be working. The Distraction Shield can help you to do something useful and enriching; a distraction 'Aikido'. The main functionality of The Distraction Shield extension is to detect when the user enters a website that they consider a distraction. It then presents a language exercise instead. Once the user has completed the exercise, they will be free to continue onto the original site. The user can choose for which sites the redirection should happen, by adding domain names to a blacklist. The Distraction Shield is open source: https://github.com/zeeguu-ecosystem/Distraction-Shield
- (2020-10-10) Michael Daross: Cool idea, but when I try to add custom sites to the "exercise" list, they all fail to load. Will update review if this bug gets fixed.
- (2019-07-27) J.G.S. Overschie: Excellent extension. By allowing me to block websites that I often resort to when distracted, I manage to stay more focused. Even, I am learning a new language instead of being distracted by setting the interception page to a language-learning website! Double-win!
- (2019-07-27) Tim Schönborn: Was searching for an extension like this for a long time! Easy to use and really does improve my productivity

Hello, I just got this plug-in and it says it has permission to read browser history and even change it. Just wondering why this plugin needs it?
