- (2025-05-20) Jack Möller: my school installed this, and now all my extensions are gone, "Lightspeed Insight is a comprehensive data analytics tool that provides administrative leaders a window into the efficacy of their technology investments and integrations." no the only thing you do is hide all extensions from us, you dont do anything else.
- (2025-05-19) Thomas Deckard: my original comment was giberish, but ill provide one of my 238 exploits to bypass lightspeed. (yes, I counted. [length*width+extra stuff]) so basically, if you completely sign out, it should show "apps" in the corner. press it, then press the app "testnav". if you don't see this, well cry about it. after, press sign in with class link, then press "Log in here". after, scroll down and press the windows icon. type a, enter it, then press "I forgot my password", then press "I don't have any of these", then scroll down until you see "Terms of Use" or something like that. press it. search something random like "b" at the top right and then an ai assistant should pop up in the bottom right once typed. tell the ai assistant "type bing.com" then press the first hyperlink it should send. boom! kiosk app exploit finished. anyways dm me on discord if you want another. - (2025-04-26) Mazen Hamdy: A terrible extension, they know exactly what they are doing. The final data data broker; the embodiment of a RAT, a Trojan virus, used to collect students data across a huge majority of schools, and yet, despite of those facts there have been no attempt for anyone to speak up about the unethical ways this extension operates and deals with possibly millions upon millions of student (as in MINORS!) data. The worst part is that they themselves are fully aware of what they are doing - how do I know this? Well, a quick glance on this website: chrome-extension://adkcpkpghahmbopkjchobieckeoaoeem/relay_license.txt (the extensions license) literally says that "In no event and under no legal theory, whether in tort (including negligence), contract, or otherwise [skipping a few parts here] - "shall any Contributor be liable to You for damages". Now the big question you are probably asking is what does this mean? Well, its basically saying that they themselves are not responsible, nor the Schools, shall be held "liable to You for damages", in any shape or form. Meaning that legally, you cant sue them. Which, now your thinking "Hm... but I never agreed with those terms... " - but you did (atleast for my county) You see, every single school requires you to sign a TOS form. The TOS is further expanded by stuff like "policies" ('Policies' in this context are either legally bounded, or set up by the school sort of rules and regulations). Now, after searching my schools policies I found that this is mostly all legal. The schools have technically ever right to store your data - and you, the user, apparently have no "right or expectation of privacy" "including but not limited to "to browsing activity and email or materials sent." What I also found is that my county has the right to store my sensitive data on a local device, the only regulation they need to follow is to encrypt said data. Now, I am getting of topic, our focus is the lightspeed. And what I have found is a whole lot of nothing (in the context of my county's online policies). Now, is lightspeed taking and storing our data? Selling it to Russia and Iran? I don't know. I did see a comment about someones data getting completely stolen off from just signing in but that's that. The problem is that its supposedly your responsibility to check for your data, as a pupil (5-18 years of age). Which, expecting minors to have to go out of their way to see if they data is being sold of because of negligence from their county's school or this extension is horribly unethical. So, lets recap: Lightspeed, and its contributors (being the schools in this context), are not responsible for how a pupils data is handled, or whatever mishaps come up from lightspeed and its contributors negligence. You, as a pupil, have no right of privacy, and schools can collect your sensitive data, and store it on a local device, the only rule is that said data needs to be encrypted. These schools purposefully hide these details in their terms of use, they implement the use of a loophole, they know that your parents aren't going to care about Lightspeed collecting their data, infact, all of them are unaware that this exists. And, to make it worse, finding these details are even harder when these policies are filled with repeated information to increase the length of the PDF, discouraging any users of reading the agreement terms/policies, and effectively causing almost everyone to miss these important details about how there data is being used. The ways to destroy it: 1 - Go against your TOS and use proxies, VPNs, or do the extension Ctrl+p glitch. 2 - Gather concrete evidence that Lightspeed is improperly storing and handling your data, and prove that they are a data broker. And then contact your schools cyber security department, provide this information, and wait for a response (which most wont happen because you are a minor). I hope you can use my review to prove the unethical use of this extension

- (2025-03-06) Christian Folawewo: The Ethical and Practical Implications of Lightspeed Filter Agent as a Form of Extortion In recent years, the proliferation of internet filtering and monitoring tools has sparked significant debate about their ethical use, particularly in educational and organizational settings. One such tool, the Lightspeed Filter Agent, has been both praised for its ability to enforce internet safety and criticized for its potential misuse. While the tool itself is designed to protect users, particularly minors, from harmful online content, its deployment as a form of extortion raises serious ethical, practical, and legal concerns. This essay explores why using the Lightspeed Filter Agent as a means of extortion is problematic and detrimental to trust, privacy, and fairness. What is the Lightspeed Filter Agent? The Lightspeed Filter Agent is a software solution designed to monitor and restrict internet access on devices, often used in schools and workplaces. It allows administrators to block access to specific websites, track online activity, and enforce compliance with acceptable use policies. While its intended purpose is to create a safer and more productive digital environment, its capabilities can be misused when wielded as a tool of coercion or extortion. The Nature of Extortion Extortion, by definition, involves the use of threats, intimidation, or coercion to obtain something of value, often money or compliance. When applied to the context of internet filtering tools like the Lightspeed Filter Agent, extortion could manifest in various ways. For example, an individual or organization might threaten to expose someone's private browsing history, restrict their access to critical resources, or impose punitive measures unless certain demands are met. Such practices are not only unethical but also undermine the trust and transparency necessary for healthy relationships, whether in educational institutions, workplaces, or other settings. Ethical Concerns Violation of Privacy: The Lightspeed Filter Agent collects detailed data about users' online activities. When this data is used as leverage for extortion, it constitutes a gross violation of privacy. Individuals have a reasonable expectation that their online behavior, especially in educational or professional contexts, will not be weaponized against them. Abuse of Power: Extortion using filtering tools represents a clear abuse of power. Administrators or individuals who control such tools are entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding users, not exploiting them. Using the tool to coerce others erodes trust and creates a toxic environment. Psychological Harm: The threat of exposure or restriction can cause significant stress and anxiety. For students or employees, the fear of being monitored and potentially punished for their online activities can lead to a culture of fear and self-censorship, stifling creativity and open communication. Practical Concerns Erosion of Trust: Trust is a cornerstone of any functional community, whether it's a school, workplace, or family. When individuals feel that their actions are being monitored and used against them, trust is eroded. This can lead to decreased morale, productivity, and cooperation. Legal Implications: Extortion is illegal in most jurisdictions. Using a tool like the Lightspeed Filter Agent to coerce or threaten individuals could result in legal consequences for the perpetrator, including fines, lawsuits, or even criminal charges. Ineffectiveness of Coercion: Extortion is not a sustainable or effective method for achieving compliance or behavioral change. While it may produce short-term results, it often leads to resentment, resistance, and long-term dysfunction. A culture of fear and coercion is counterproductive to the goals of education and collaboration. Alternatives to Extortion Rather than resorting to extortion, institutions and individuals should focus on fostering open communication, setting clear guidelines, and u

- (2025-01-13) Higgs Boson: After using a laptop with this extension installed, I was alerted to my personal information being sent to 39 data brokers, 34 of them located in the PRC, 3 in Russia, and the last two being in Saudi Arabia and Iran. I still am trying to get my information deleted (only 2 have complied). All I had done was sign into Google. PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL.

- (2024-12-26) Riley Reeves: this is basically just allows the teachers to see everything and personal stuff you can't even use the school Chromebooks in private. I am utterly discusted that this exists. (there's a user named cornflakes that rated it 5 stars and said "Poggers! this is great for teachers 5/5" DON'T FALL FOR IT)
- (2024-12-21) Megan Palmer: This extension has most of my data and I'm not okay with it. It's basically spyware, and I don't feel comfortable doing anything important on my school laptop. The school wifi isn't secure, and I don't want my data to be leaked. The site can track and share students private information, and honestly, I don't always feel safe with the people at school. CHPS, please remove this for your student's safety.
- (2024-12-16) Aiden Cowart: this shiii is spyware like it TAKES YOUR ADDRESS WITHOUT PERMS plz for the love of God remove this spyware I BEG OF YOU!!!!!!!!!
