Looks for Clickbait Contents
Powered by a highly accurated machine learning based clickbait classification model, BaitBuster aims to improve the web surfing experience of general users. Currently, this browser extension
only identifies clickbaits present in a Facebook timeline. It monitors a user’s facebook news feed and alerts if a post (link) contains a clickbait headline. In addition, it provides a brief explanation behind the decision which includes- what language features present in a headline makes it a clickbait, the probability of being clickbait and whether the headline represents the corresponding body fairly. The extension also shows a brief summary of the corresponding article. Users can also provide feedback on the correctness of the classification done by BaitBuster.
After installing the extension, when a user visits Facebook, s/he sees a red button on top of any clickbait links. If she clicks the button, a modal containing supplementary explanation, the summary of the corresponding body and the feedback option opens up. This extension currently only works on English written articles.
Special thanks to Sabbir Md. Adnan Siddiqui for his contribution in building the extension.
