- [Technical Report: Extension Activation Failure on Temu due to CSP Conflict] Subject: Critical Bug Report Regarding ShopBack Extension Activation Failure and False-Positive Error Messages on Temu.com Description: Currently, ShopBack extension users on Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Whale, etc.) are unable to activate cashback on Temu. This is not a transient connection issue but a structural conflict between the ShopBack extension’s logic and Temu’s Content Security Policy (CSP). A rigorous review by the engineering team is requested. 1. Observed Symptom: Upon clicking the [Activate Cashback] button via the extension or the auto-popup, the activation fails immediately with the following error message: Error Message: "You may have clicked on an ad, external link, or another coupon site that interferes with ShopBack's cashback activation. Please re-activate to continue earning rewards." Despite repeated attempts to re-activate, the extension remains in an infinite loop of the same error. 2. Technical Root Cause Analysis (via Browser Console): Analysis of the Developer Tools (Console) reveals that Temu’s Content Security Policy (CSP) directive is blocking ShopBack’s authentication and communication scripts. Identified Error Log: Refused to connect to 'http://temudebug.com/...' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "default-src ..." Conclusion: The communication domain used by ShopBack is not included in Temu's security whitelist (default-src or connect-src). Consequently, the browser engine treats this as an external threat and forcibly terminates the connection. It appears the extension misinterprets this security block as "interference from other coupon sites" and triggers an incorrect diagnostic message to the user. 3. Request for Action: This is a Platform-to-Platform Security Trust (Whitelist) issue that cannot be resolved by end-user actions such as clearing cache or reinstalling the extension. We request the ShopBack Engineering Team to: Update the extension’s communication logic to align with Temu’s latest CSP policies. Modify the blocked domains to fall within Temu’s allowed range or coordinate with Temu to whitelist the necessary ShopBack endpoints.

- I tried to shop on Temu using this extension and did what it asked me. It was green and the app said that the cashback is 50%. After the purchase, there was no track of the purchase, the purchase was around 350$ and shopback support is also too slow. Janen replied after few days and she did not know how to help. It has been a week now and there is no cashback and there is not even a click history for it while my other small cashback worked, temu big order failed me. This extension is very unreliable just like their support team is. They do not even provide case number to your complaints but just correspond via emails, just to let you know how pathetic their support process is.

- It's not a lie!!!!! It actually works!!!!!! I actually received the sign on bonus as well!!!!!!! They sent it to my PayPal within a couple of days, it was in my PayPal account... I'm going to continue to use it and I will udate my review if necessary.

- Shopback is a great website/app to use if you are looking for cashback etc. That is UNTIL you have an issue. I have been trying to get an issue with a HUGE Cashback day they had. Amazon 50% cashback was offered. I shopped and was NOT credited the 50% Cashback!! I sent all documentation to their customer service through email... with every transaction I made during this special time. I had documentation from Amazon with the times and transactions that were made. *I am still fighting this. Right now I am at the point of filing a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to have someone help me in resolving this issue with my cashback that is due. *PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO A CASHBACK with this business. **This business is in another country which makes it difficult to get ACTUAL help. And PLEASE take a picture of your transaction so that YOU have proof of the cashback showing it is ACTIVATED and what you purchased. Cashback adds up. You deserve to get what you have earned... keep proof. Just saying....

- I have tried to withdraw cashback multiple times and keep getting rejected for no clear reason. Have tried getting in contact with a human being from ShopBack about this issue but that does not seem possible at this point. Utterly frustrating.

- Handy sometimes, but WAY too intrusive, and there needs to be the ability to exclude domains either using regex, or subdomains. Using AWS (ap-southeast-2.console.aws.amazon.com) keeps prompting me to activate ShopBack because the domain ends in amazon.com EVEN WHEN Amazon is excluded

- Has a forced popup on all websites that have vouchers available, including video sites like Twitch or Disney plus, meaning there is a permanent thing on the screen while trying to watch videos. It also often causes high cpu usage when loading.

- Very bad experience If I could give zero stars, I would. Booked a hotel through ShopBack in April for an August stay. After the trip, I found out there was no cashback. I contacted customer service, but they hid behind their “must claim within 30 days of booking” rule. Here’s the absurd part: they also state cashback is only confirmed after you’ve completed the stay. So how can anyone possibly claim within 30 days of booking, when you only discover the problem months later after the hotel stay? Their terms make it impossible for customers to get what they were promised, and support just repeats the same scripted response without addressing the obvious flaw. This is misleading, unfair, and a terrible experience.

- The extension works most of the time but it signs itself out randomly so it's a hassle to sign back in. There were also instances were the shopback app showed a purchase was tracked but the cashback was denied. The extension will remove other promo codes that you apply unless you reapply them so that is the downside.
