• (2022-03-19) Jeff Hsu: Appears not to be working in Live Chess (/live) after a recent release, only in /play. This is a problem because there are some bugs playing with DGT boards in /play so it is still necessary to use /live when playing with a DGT board. I hope the developer can fix this.
• (2021-04-29) Marco Verch (Wuestenigel): Very nice idea! I love Danny! However, he is a little bit repetetive like early version of EA Sports Fifa Soccer 1996. Also it is very very confusing that c3 means Knight c3. When I play on my DGT board and just hear c3, I move the pawn forward instead of the Knight. Would be nice if you fix this incredible Alpha version of this helpful extension! Also It is not possible to enter a game via "Play Game". You have to click on Live Chess first and then click on custom game and then search for oppontents.

• (2020-07-04) Frédéric PAILLAUGUE: From now on it doesn't work properly as the pieces are not announced : if your Knight goes to f3, it will announce only "f3", and it's a big issue because you don't know if the pawn moved to f3 or another piece... I also found a mistake when my opponent's King went to g7, it announced "Rook g7". When you wanna play without the screen, it's highly problematic. Please consider fixing this dear chess.com crew :) Thanks !
• (2020-04-12) Carl Stephens: i tried it for the first time this afternoon, after installing the extension and activating, it didnt work during my first game. after restarting my browser and enabling again it did work. however the announcements were confusing, it was announcing pawn moves correctly so when i played e4 it would announce e4, but when either me or my opponent played any other move that wasnt a pawn, so for example a knight, it would only announce the destination square, ie i play Nf3 and it would only announce f3 this needs fixing because i often play with a DGT board connected and if i'm not watching the screen, and i hear it announce f3 thats gonna potentially cause me to move the wrong piece. please look into this. thanks !

  Hello, thank you for making this add-in for the chess community. If I am not mistaken, you have made a change to the add-in to support the new /play environment on chess.com. For me anyway, the add-in no longer works in /live. The problem is that /live is currently still needed in some use cases (particularly using a DGT board).   It seems "https://www.chess.com/live" ("Live Chess") is going to be replaced with "https://www.chess.com/play" that is no longer in Beta. Since the extension now works only in "Live Chess", maybe it is high time to update the plugin to make it future proof.

  It does not work. I tried putting Piece notation to "Text", I tried allow all cookies on chess.com, and it does not work! I'm cosidering moving to lichess, and on community post people agree with me. Just. Add that feature in please, make it so that you can turn it on/off in the settings, it's not that hard... It helps me learn notation better faster, help blind people know what moves are being played, ect, and it's relatively easy to make I don't see why you guys haven't add it to chess.com

  I am using the voice extension for about a year now, and it is working on and off. The reason is unknown. This definitely needs a statement. The usage is not reliable for whatever reason. Just now, it is not working. I also posted in the DGT Chess Club forum with no success so far (https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/potential-workaround-when-voice-extension-not-working).

  Hello! I would like to translate the extension for Chrome "Vocal Commentary" in Italian. I noticed that inside the folder of the extension there are two folder: Danny and Default. Which are the two options available. Inside there are the mp3 folder with all the previously recorded voices. I simply recorded a new set of audio files in my language (italian). I simply replaced the correct mp3 files in their correct folder, and mantaining che correct name of every single file. But I don't know why, it crashes! Why? I have only replaced the mp3 files! If there something I could do to fix that? Thank you

  i'm struggling to get this to work properly for me when in use with a DGT board, the issue i'm running into is, the software announces pawn moves correctly, but when my opponent makes a "piece" move eg a knight move or a bishop move, it only announces the destination square, ie i play Nf3 it announces only f3 when in fact it should have announced Nf3 which it doesn't simply put if this keeps happening the software is useless to me, as i'm still having to refer to the screen to find the correct move ! please resolve many thanks

  A lot of people use your extension for playing with a DGT e board. We would like to have a third option that - announces only the opponent's moves - in a common and usual way, e.g. "Knight f3" (instead of only "f3") and "Bishop takes f3". Thank you and stay healthy
