• (2022-06-23) Kris10 Halverson: Once you get it to launch, it works great. The problem is getting it to launch. After trying to get it to work on Chrome on two different computers (mac and PC) & multiple restarts, I finally downloaded and installed Microsoft Edge and got it to work on my mac that way (after fiddling around with it for way too long). Getting the application to launch is hard and time consuming (its easy to get it to add to Chrome as an extension, but it never launches a window giving you the chance to subscribe which is what you need to get it to actually work). Once it launches, its perfect, easy to use and super quick. Just took several hours of fiddling around with it to get it to launch. Others mention same problem.

• (2020-09-05) Nick Molatore: Okay, this is genius. When I first starting using Google Photos, I could not believe that you could not download without preserving the order of the photos. This is such an essential feature that I figured Google was working on it and it would soon be a feature. Well, years later and they still don't have this obvious feature. • (2020-03-07) David Willis: Hi Cameron, I really need this capability but unfortunately the extension did not work for me. I could only see shared albums and not all albums. Sometimes I had to close the extension and re-open to allow the shared albums to appear. And I could not see the content of any albums so could not test the download capability. I use a PC with Windows 10.
• (2020-02-19) Raph Levien: I used this to present a slideshow for a memorial. It saved the relative from redoing about an hour of work carefully putting the photos in order. I also appreciate that the source is available and under a Creative Commons license, that helps increase my trust in the extension.

• (2020-01-27) James Kleiner: I was looking for a way to download album pictures from Google Photo and be able to keep them in the order I wanted them in (Google stamps with download date so you can not sort by date). This extension allows you to numerically name them and then sort by name. Few issues but they were immediately taken care of and now I can carry on with my album project. Thanks a million Cameron. It's easy to use and fantastic documentation.

  I paid for the subscription. The chrome extensions show that Album Download is loaded. I am trying to download a album from google photos. In order for the person to open the photos I need to click each individual photo and then get a link, copy it and then email the link to the person. When I do this the photos are still all jumbled. I want them in alphabetical order. What am I doing wrong and is it because I am not just using the "download" button Thanks Glenda

  Hi Cameron, Great extension! Quick question - is it possible to include the photo caption information in the filename? (By caption, I mean the text field that by default says "Add a description" in the info section of the photo). I tried various things like {{caption}}, {{info}}, {{description}} but to no avail! Perhaps access isn't even possible to that field?? Another thought: would be great to see somewhere a list of valid fields that the user can specify. I guessed {{filename}} would work, but couldn't come up with any other new ones! Thanks for the great work! Cheers, Cameron

  The Extension page says: Loading the albums. Please wait a few seconds. When I do Inspect -> Network, then I see the response is already finished. This is my work laptop (MacBook Pro with latest OSx), so we have uBlock install (reports nothing was blocked). As a workaround to get my photos sorted I went through my album, did Shift+D (download) one-by-one and then sort by "Date Added". Wish Google Photos had this (I wanted a more personalized Photo Book than the stock Google Photos).   Really excited to see your extension, Cameron. If it worked I would gladly pay for it. But when I tried to use it to download an album and retain the order of photos and videos in it, they downloaded with the original file names, not the new "save as" filenames the extension supposedly creates to maintain my order. This was true whether I downloaded individual files or the whole album. So not helpful. I am using a PC with Windows 10.
