Increase and amplify your max volume! Join over 200,000 happy users!
Unleash the power of sound, no matter what speakers or headphones you're using. I made this extension so I could blast music on my laptop. Pick how much louder you want the sound to be on audio from any chrome tab. This will work on any audio coming from any tab, and has been successfully tested on both Mac and Windows. This will work on one tab at a time, so please press the "turn off" button before you turn on Volume Booster on a new tab.
If you are on Windows and are having issues with Fullscreen, press F11.
If you are on Mac, maximize the window and then press cmd+shift+F.
If using earphones or small laptop speakers, moving the slider past the 1/4 of the slider will lead to crackling noise.
I am not responsible for any damage done to your speakers/earphones. Please use this extension with care, especially with moving the slider to the red section.

- It causes the audio to become choppy, even when set to the lowest setting where it barely makes a change. This is an issue with the software and not my laptop, because I've now used other means to boost the audio with no issues.

- Works as intended with a pretty significant catch. Every time you open a website with this extension installed it calls GiveFreely.initializeAdUnit(), this is a privacy concern. This script hijacks affiliate links to generate revenue for its organization. There is a short disclaimer in the description that glosses over this at the very bottom of the description and mostly out of view, I didn't even notice it before I noticed the additional browser calls.

- DO NOT GET THIS Every time you go shop on websites like Ali-express or other stuff you get this huge top right pop up about donations and stuff The only option to close it is called "Donate&Close" if you click that it closes the pop up but adds a pinned tab that is always annoying to remove and if you refresh the page it comes back on Imagine me scrolling through every extension to see what it was and it was a volume booster out of all of them, Shameful.

- Sorry, I understand you've put the givefreely popup in because you care about charity but it is NOT appropriate to add that to an extension people downloaded without warning. I frankly don't care how much you've raised for charity, it's not the time or the place. We're solicited enough online and IRL, and an obtrusive pop-up that seems to be monitoring for when we're spending money specifically, is so shady.

- Without making any adjustments, as soon as I turn this pluggin on, the audio becomes distorted. This must be purely for data scraping. As it is actively negatively impacting quality, without even working. This is a botted app.

- I see a lot of people complaining of some sort of adware being inside the extensions and even though I can't agree because I've never gotten any ads of the sort, I realize one of my own extensions could've been protecting and interfering me from the ads, so, for the foreseeable future, I'm uninstalling it forever.

- Used this for years without incident, but like others have remarked, they installed a very difficult to detect hijacker. I spent hours trying to find it because I implicitly trusted this extension. So disappointing.

- It's a great chrome extension. Sometime I have found some video of the sound is very low that cases this chrome extension is very useful.

- The developer has recently added an affiliate hijacker called GiveFreely and enabled it by default for all existing users. The third party says they don't take any cut for themselves (although they'll be adding advertisements in the future). Meanwhile, the developer doesn't state *anywhere* that they don't receive a cut. Regardless of whether they receive a cut, adding an affiliate hijacker without notice and enabling it by default is disgraceful behaviour, and I'm uninstalling the add-on.
