Displays a local radar animation loop on an Esri basemap

Image from store Local Radar Loop
Description from store Are you waiting for NOAA/NWS to publish a non-Flash web application for local weather radar loops? This extension provides a simple alternative in the meantime. When activated, click on the icon to launch the radar viewer in a new tab. You can select the radar station you wish to view (organized by State), the radar product to load, and one of a variety of WGS84 basemaps to display below the radar images. You can start and stop the animation, turn visibility on and off, and adjust opacity. Arrow controls allow you to navigate to an adjacent radar station. Once the map is loaded, you can pan or zoom using a variety of means, including mouse drag to pan, shift + mouse drag to zoom in, and mouse wheel to zoom in/out. Click the "Home" button to return to the full image extent. As a bonus, you can also load the national radar mosaic (CONUS only, no Alaska or Hawaii, sorry!). The "Pick a Radar" tool allows you to click on a point on the map to open the local radar for that area. User options allow you to save the default radar station that is launched. This extension demonstrates an elementary use of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript in a Chrome extension, and consumes map products provided freely by both Esri and NOAA. It is not itself an official product of Esri or NOAA. [v1.4: Support for long range reflectivity.]
