This isnt possible if you use the current "picture-in-picture" feature which is available on Youtube's website. The Youtube Mini Player is not able to be dragged and dropped to a different browser tab. Install Floating Player for Youtube™ Videos today and you can begin to drag the minified Youtube Video Player to another browser tab such as Google Docs so that you can take notes in real time while you are watching the Video.

- (2025-01-03) Cindy C: This extension works and I love it! right after opening new YouTube videos, refresh the YouTube web page by clicking the "The reload button in Google Chrome" which is a circular arrow (⟳) that appears next to the address bar, then Turn On this extension! Hope this help :)
