和其它 Keep Awake 扩展类似，它的基本功能是覆盖操作系统当前的节能设置，阻止系统休眠或息屏。此外，扩展提供了一个定时器功能，可以让电脑开一段时间之后再进入休眠状态。同时它也支持快捷键切换状态。
点击扩展图标可以切换三种状态：
● 屏幕常亮：系统不进入休眠，并且屏幕一直亮着。比如做演示的时候需要保持屏幕常亮状态。
● 系统保持运行：系统不进入休眠，但屏幕可能会关闭。比如上传或下载文件的时候，屏幕可以关闭，但需要保持系统处于运行状态。
● 系统默认状态：取消上面两种状态，是否休眠或关闭屏幕由操作系统的节能设置决定。
倒计时功能：
1. 您可以设定一段时间（比如 30 分钟），然后点击“启动”按钮开始倒计时。在到达指定时间之后扩展会自动恢复为系统默认状态。例如，当你想要外出的时候，程序还需要执行一段时间才能完成，这个时候你就可以设置为保持系统运行，并设置定时器一小时后恢复为系统默认状态（进入休眠）。
2. 定时关闭网页。比如您在准备睡觉时，想要浏览器继续播放一段时间的视频或音频，然后自动关闭。这时就可以用定时器中的另一个选项来完成这个任务。
补充说明：如果您手工让计算机进入了休眠状态（比如合上了笔记本盖子），或者完全退出了浏览器，这种情况下扩展无法保持系统运行。

Had Keep Awake for many many years until I realized that my monitor sometimes wouldn't turn back on after it went to sleep or just off, I even changed my HDMI cable and it still did it, so I downloaded Keep Computer Awake and it works w/o any problems now.
