Description from store Pause and restart timers with the d key. Reset timers with the e key. Add $ in a count down or up timer to start it in a paused state. More granular time formatting. Be sure to refresh your slides after you install for the timer to work. Slides Timer is an extension which will automatically bring timers to life in presented slides. Times placed between << and >> will be replaced with a timer. Use - as the last character to count down from the specified time. Use + to count up from the specified time. use <<time>> to display the current time. Example: <<5:00->> will count down starting at 5 minutes. <<2:00+>> will count up starting at 2 minutes <<time>> will display the current time <<time^>> will display the current time without seconds <<time&>> will display the current time without am/pm <<time^&>> will display the current time without seconds and am/pm <<date>> will display numeric dates in / format <<shortdate>> will display abbreviated word date values <<longdate>> will display full word date values <<00:30-->> will advance to the previous slide on countdown <<00:30-+>> will advance to the next slide on countdown <<00:30-@>> will trigger inserted audio on countdown <<00:30-!>> will trigger inserted video on countdown <<00:30-~>> will continuously countdown when navigating slides. <<00:30+~>> will continuously count-up when navigating slides. <<time>> and <<date>> can now handle more granular formatting. <<time|hh:mm:ss>> will format as hours minutes seconds <<date|dd-MM-yyyy>> will format with day, month year h - single digit 12 hour hh - double digit 12 hour H - single digit 24 hour HH - double digit 24 hour m - single digit minute mm - double digit minute s - single digit second ss - double digit second d - single digit day dd - double digit day ddd - short weekday dddd - long weekday M - single digit month MM - double digit month MMM - abbreviated month MMMM - long month yy - double digit year yyyy - four digit year This extension does not handle user data.

  • (2023-10-11) Niall Ridgway: Works well. Take the time to understand how to use the text codes and it'll work perfectly.
  • (2023-10-01) Paul Robertson: Best I can judge, the instructions lack clarity and examples. "Add $ in a count down or up timer to start it in a paused state." Well, there's no example of this further down, so should I write <<$0:00>> , <<0:00$>>, or some other combination? I'm looking at this because after using the timer once successfully on a slide, it never worked again. Hitting the "e" key indeed resets it to the first value, but that will not start the timer again. Hitting "d" only advances it by one second. It never does a countdown again, despite instructions stating to “Pause and restart timers with the d key.” So either the instructions are poor, or the timer simply does not work more than once. Another irritating feature: as soon as you launch your slideshow, the timer has already started. So if you want a certain countdown time, make sure to add in the extra seconds it takes for the slide to load. If you are trying to present one line at a time and hitting a key to advance your presentation by paragraph, bad news: your timer started already and is finished, and you can't use it any longer. Returning to the timer slide from elsewhere in your presentation does not reactivate it either. Only exiting slideshow mode and refreshing the entire presentation achieves this. And to answer the riddle above about the $? Neither of the forms I tried worked - at least with the instructions I've seen so far. In a review above I see someone has written that we shouldn’t use a text box, but rather a rectangle for this. That seems like a fairly unintuitive step, so instructions are certainly lacking there as well. Great idea, would be a nice feature if I could understand how the developer imagines it is supposed to work.

Now I looked on TechWeb (My Schools teachers curriculum website) on how to use it. I tried installing it again, but when I clicked on the icon the second time nothing came up, no instructions but only settings. I am Bummed for loosing this experience :( Please fix it. • (2020-08-17) Stephen Anderson: So simple and cool! I was looking for a countdown timer for Google Slides, and this is perfect. You can use any font, bold, etc. Most other solutions I found when searching for this involved embedding and muting a YouTube video into the presentation. This works much better and is much more versatile. The count up and current time features are added bonuses. I'm sure I can find good opportunities to use them going forward.
  • (2020-07-14) Ammar Merhbi: Amazing! However, when I try a "presenter view" and the slide shows in the browser and not as full screen, it does not work.
