Shareware Files is the easiest way to download and stream media assets that are usually only available from the hosting site in limited formats.
Shareware Files is an extension that works by detecting files you are viewing or that are available on the page. Once the file and format is detected and confirmed, the extension will enable you to download and/or stream the file as appropriate.

A separate tab window is opened in order to allow video streaming for links that are previously only downloadable or viewable in a closed-source media player.
As expected, this extension will not combat sites that explicitly disallow downloading and unauthorized streaming of their content. This extension will NOT work on Youtube or similar sites.
If a file is detected, the share-able icon (our logo) will appear to change color in your tabs menu bar. When that occurs the extension is notifying you that files have been detected in that tab. You can click the popup icon at that time to view options that you can apply to each file.
This extension not be liable for downloaded files.
