Joshua Deltener has release Slick RSS and last update are in 2012.
I took the source code from GitHub to update it.

I was tired of seeing extensions use other websites to do their work. I wanted an RSS reader that was fully contained within Chrome and this is the result.
Features:
- Supports both RSS and Atom feeds
- Discovers both RSS and Atom feeds within pages (with finder installed)
- You can manage feeds manually or use a bookmark folder
- If you manage manually you can set a sort order and max items per feed
- Imports/Exports OPML files into the manager, or your bookmark folder
- Supports read later functionality (favorites)
- Supports custom date formats
- Can display read items as gray or title only
- Supports 1 to 4 columns.
- Supports blocking of objects, images and iframes in feeds
- Feed links always open in a new tab
- Slick, simple interface

Latest issues
- (2023-07-28, v:3.017) Thurston IsOnlyANickName: "Mark Read" sometimes does not work.
I observe that clinking "Mark Read" for an RSS feed frequently does nothing. But sometimes it works, correctly marking the feed's contents read. Often when clinking "Mark Read" does nothing, clinking "Refresh" and then "Mark Read" will mark the RSS feed's contents to be read. - (2022-05-10, v:3.005.2) Mike: href.startsWith is not a function
Do we know when you'll be releasing a version which contains https://github.com/gandf/slick-rss/commit/d6a25857d5dc1cc62ecf6eafd1e7ec94bd474604 ? This commit -- https://github.com/gandf/slick-rss/commit/62a474314bc6ba8705aeadf4d73674d0482899d3 -- introduces a crash that is fixed by it. In switching from [Slick RSS (not by users)] to [Slick RSS by users], I would like not to have to re-enter all the items I used with the former.
