Show Twitch chat on top of the stream player (live and VOD). Keep up with chat, send messages, automatically claim channel points, and more, without leaving fullscreen mode (or expanding sidebar chat).
Customize position, font, background on a per stream basis and sync and store your preferences across your devices. Twitch dark and light themes supported by default.
Once installed, a Chat Overlay button will be added to the bottom right buttons panel of the Twitch video player which you can click to toggle the chat overlay on/off.
Choose the perfect position, font size, color and that's it!

PagMan some things could be improved - big chat button but this doesnt really matter since you dont see it 99% of the time, and resizing height means you cant see the newest messages at the bottom asap, but this doesn't really matter either when you're watching streamers with fast chat

- (2023-02-04) Shrike: Smartly designed extension, not many complaints. Wish it had a feature where beginning to type would start typing the message in chat regardless if the mouse is hovering on the overlay or not. That would make this whole thing absolutely seamless. Add a toggle for it in settings.

Thought that it may have been something else but upon uninstalling the extension I can scroll down the user list but when reinstalled I can't anymore. So hopefully that can be fixed.

- (2022-06-24) NachoMist: Many of the customization options simply don't work for me. Font customization (typeface, size, color, outline, and weight) and hiding timestamps don't do anything at all, and the hide usernames option hides messages as well. The only options that DO work without any issues are the background color customization and the auto-claim channel points feature. The emote menu is also broken, it opens and I can click emotes, but I can't scroll through the menu so I'm limited to only picking whatever's at the very top. The funny thing is, despite these problems this remains the best chat overlay extension of the handful I've tried so far. Based on the other reviews it seems like most people aren't having the same issues I'm running into so your mileage may vary I suppose, and at the end of the day it still does what it says on the tin: overlays a (mostly) functional Twitch chat in fullscreen.
