• (2021-04-27) Making a Username: This extension is the best until Youtube made it not work. It's so good that someone is willing to spend their time to make Youtube better than everyone else. The old layout looks so nostalgic when you see it. I wished that it worked again as you'll love the old layout and use this extension from now on. Ironically, Pickle Vlad is better at developing Youtube than Youtube themselves. It's not Pickle Vlad's fault that Youtube patched this extension again. It's bad that Youtube doesn't give us the option to use this extension when the extension causes no harm. I hope Youtube reverts their code that patches this extension so everyone can use this extension and be happy but Youtube is a dick and wants to make updates for the sole purpose for everyone to suffer and Youtube doesn't even make money from patching the extension.

  So, yt devs fixed user-agent workaround completely. No other ways remain to use old youtube. For devs - I was able to get old design with some combination of 'X-YouTube-Client-Version', with already-fixed user-agent, but it was unusable, and only suitable to reconstruct.

  The mobile layout looks more like the old YT layout, and is extremely quick to load. You have to make some CSS tweaks to make it look better though, but for my own purpose it works better than the new desktop version. The new desktop version is just too slow for my poor laptop, so the mobile version is good enough for now. Perhaps the mobile layout could be used as a basis for GoodOldYoutube in the future. Some tweaks would be needed, but it seems like a simpler starting point than using the current desktop layout.
