Several studies have shown the repetition at regular intervals, and interleaving are key to learning (for example: the famous course on learning how to learn).
As kids are spending more time at home due to COVID-19 related school closures, they are watching a lot youtube, Netflix etc. Can we provide repetition of key concepts and problems at regular intervals as a part of their YouTube time?
Our solution is LearnTerrupt!
LearnTerrupt is a browser extension (chrome/edge, etc) that will interrupt your kid every 20 – 25 mins when they are watching something on their laptop or tablet, and allows them to revise a small segment or do a few math problems from their khanacdemy account. You need to tell the extension which grade the kid is, set up the interrupt time or your choice. The tool will pick that video or unit test links for the appropriate grade from khanacademy and play that for your kids.
You will get an email report at the end of the day on which khanacademy videos they have seen and how much time they spent learning.
