Description from store # Linux Scroll Speed Fix #### Download: [Chrome web store package](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/linux-scroll-speed-fix/mlboohjioameadaedfjcpemcaangkkbp) ## DESCRIPTION Fixes the slow scroll speed in Chrome for Linux by emulating the Windows scroll speed when the extension detects Linux. When it detects Windows it will disable itself. The extension also allows for custom scroll speed values in both Windows and Linux. All settings are saved locally in the browser to not mess with syncing between different systems. ## FEATURES - Automatic "similar-to-Windows" scroll speed in Linux. - Custom scroll speed settings - Settings are saved locally in the browser ## CHANGELOG #### Version 1.7.2 - Fixed Outlook scrolling #### Version 1.7.1 - Added Outlook 365 to exception list #### Version 1.7.0 - Fixed Youtube fullscreen scroll problems - Fixed images on Instagram not loading correctly when scrolling - Disabled scrolling plugin on Outlook until fix is found #### Version 1.6.9 - Made overflow fix compatible with fullscreen #### Version 1.6.8 - Made overflow fix apply more reliably #### Version 1.6.7 - Fixed overflow issue - again #### Version 1.6.6 - Fixed overflow issue #### Version 1.6.5 - Clarified some text - Removed some debug stuff #### Version 1.6.4 - Reworked icon and background color - Reworked change in 1.6.3 to no cause issues with certain sites. #### Version 1.6.3 - Forces OverflowX to be visible. Some sites hides this and this disables scrolling. #### Version 1.6.2 - Reworked protection against banners that change behaviour. #### Version 1.6.1 - Tab or tabs are now prompted to be refreshed if the plugin is disabled or enabled. - Updated icons to match the color theme. #### Version 1.6.0 - Refactored most of the code. - CSS Scroll smoothing toggling no longer needs refresh of window. - Minor bug fixes. #### Version 1.5.3 - Added indicator for if the extension is enabled or not - Changed so that the default behaviour in Windows (not custom) disables the extension. - Added tooltip for smooth scrolling. #### Version 1.5.2 - Reduced Chrome permissions needed - Minor bug fix #### Version 1.5.1 - iFrame security workaround #### Version 1.5 - Fixed banners messing with smooth scroll disable behavior ## NOTES iFrames from other domains will use default scroll speed due to security (same-origin-policy). There is to my knowledge nothing to be done about this without some clever rewrite that is currently above my head. CSS smooth scroll behavior is disabled by default. To my knowledge, the true smooth scrolling seen in Windows and MacOS will only be available with real hardware acceleration. Google stated that this won't be avaible in Chrome for Linux. The future will tell. Please report bugs with description and address to the site where you encountered it. Send bug report here: https://github.com/Dedas/linux-scroll-speed-fix/issues #### Settings Default scroll speed values: Linux = 1.9 Windows = 1.0 (extension is disabled by default) MacOS = 1.0 (This needs testing!) #### Thanks to Based on gblazex/smoothscroll. Fork of DemonTPx/chrome-scroll-speed.

  • (2023-10-08) Martin Nover: Thank you so much for this Extension! I am using Mint Cinnamon which does not have a scroll speed setting. I first tried an other browser extension which does not work with my Youtube volume mouse control. But your extension works flawlessly.
  • (2023-07-08) frank true: KDE. No improvement is felt after enabling this extension. On the contrary, on many sites the scrolling is jerky
  • (2023-06-13) Gio Bur: works well everywhere except, ironically, the chrome web store
  • (2023-01-23) Masahito S.: As of Chrome version 109 the scroll speed on Linux has FINALLY been fixed. Literally for years I couldn't live without this beautifully-simple and perfectly-functioning add-on. Now it can retire lamentedly. Thank you very much, developer, for providing us this piece of art.
  • (2022-12-18) Austin Thibodeaux: Wish it would scroll smoothly like it does without the extension.

  • (2022-05-22) Dennis: I'm dual booting Pop_OS 22.04 and Windows 10. This is a nice quality of life extension that helps match the scroll speed across operating systems. I like how this extension auto-disables itself when it detects you're not on Linux. Simple, unobtrusive, functional.
  • (2022-05-18) speedfede55: It fixes the annoing linux mint slow scrool speed. Easy to use, nice job.
  • (2022-04-27) Rad Matic: Works very well. I would not have switched from Windows to Zorin Core without this extension and Input Remapper. Using it on 3 PCs with a variety of mice. And now that the requirement to login to Chrome after a start/restart has been fixed, I'm a happy camper.
  • (2022-04-26) Daniel: Fixes slow mouse scroll, but in turn makes touchpad scrolling way to fast with no option to revert to normal other than disabling the extension, not even setting a 1.0 scroll factor fixes the touchpad speed. Will rate 5 stars when fixed.
  • (2022-03-27) Prontom Prontom: worked fine!

  • (2022-02-16) Izdislаv None: Not working in Mint, scrolling is horrible in chrome, jumping not smooth seems you are watching cascade of pictures not movie as looks normal scrolling.
  • (2022-01-27) Ibnul Alam: Thanks. This has fixed the slow scrolling problem on my vivaldi browser in ubuntu. And the option to put custom number to control how many line it will scroll is just amazing.

  • (2021-11-25) Justin Tan: Doesn't work as well as it should on standard Chrome, Fedora 35. The effect doesn't kick in every time, giving way for a rather distracting browsing experience. Lots of room for improvement there, I believe!

  • (2021-08-29) balloox: Amazing, it works beautifully
  • (2021-08-29) Petr Gladkikh: Probably a must have on Linux. I doubt anyone needs a 1 em scroll per mouse-wheel click that is sadly the default. Does not work on all sites (e.g. here on the Store site). It should require less permissions than "all data on all sites".
  • (2021-08-22) Salvatore Fiore: Veramente ottima estensione
  • (2021-08-05) Richard Liu: This plugin fixed my problem, thanks.
  • (2021-07-05) Nathan Stokes: Extension fixes a major problem but causes another one by preventing certain websites from fully loading.
  • (2021-07-02) David Karlsson: Great extension and a must have on Linux imo. But unfortunately it always disables smooth scrolling whether you tick the CSS smooth scrolling box or not.
  • (2021-06-26) Jake Freeland: Wonderful extension. I applaud the developer for the flawless functionality.
  • (2021-06-06) Daniel Markow: Works wonderfully with Chrome on Fedora 34. Thanks! :)
  • (2021-05-02) HalfR1 H: Not perfect but will do the job most of the time, only problem is that I can´t get the smooth scroll to work but that's not really an issue most of the time, before I was using imwheel but that lagged very bad for me, so this extension is a perfect alternative to that with zero lag and very easy to customize, almost perfect!
  • (2021-04-24) Son D. Vo: The scroll speed in Linux Ubuntu is slow as hell. This extention is really marvelous, happy with speed of 3.

  • (2021-01-24) David Smolinski: works for Microsoft Intellimouse Pro and Pop!_OS 20.10
  • (2021-01-23) ゴンザレズジョセフ: works great but 2 finger gesture gets disabled. Without the extension, swiping 2 fingers to the left goes to the previous page, this extension disabled that. Besides that, this is definitelly one of my needed extensions on chromebook.
  • (2021-01-22) Christopher Fonnesbeck: Thank you!
  • (2021-01-09) 程旭原: I don't know why the page sliding speed of all linux browsers is so slow that it is as slow as a turtle crawling. Thanks to the author for solving this problem.
