⚡ You need to refresh all the tabs, which were opened BEFORE the Night Shift was installed. You can also restart Chrome to refresh all the tabs at once. Otherwise, Night Shift will work only with the newly opened tabs.
⚡In accordance with the Chrome Browser policies, Night Shift is restricted to work on the Chrome Web Store and Home Page. Please open any other website (for example, YouTube) after installing this extension and check the extension in action.
Night Shift provides itself on a scheduled basis, you can choose from 3 options:
1. Sunset to Sunrise (Chrome colors will be shaded every day automatically on Sunset).
2. Off (manually enable the Night Shift to shade the screen)
3. Custom (set up your own schedule to start up and finish display color adjustments)
Take care of your eyes. Change screen brightness to special eye-protective colors from the list or to a color that you prefer.
Night shift changes the colors of the screen to warm and eye-protective shades. You can set automatically change screen mode by schedule or select a color theme for a certain website.
Working on a computer a night time may take affect your eyes. Night Shift Mode is a good opportunity to reduce screen brightening to take care of your eyes. Dark Mode isn't suitable for all websites, so applying warm colors to all websites will be the best alternative for screen tinting.
Screen Shader Mode is a pleasure for your eyes!

New Update: Dark mode don't work everytime you open a new site. Fix this.
Ive used this for years. Its been flawless for so long, truly a great extension. BUT all of a sudden theres some new "fancy" update that got pushed and now the experience is so much worse and confusing like why is night shift and dark mode separated and why can I only whitelist(websites where dark mode is off) each website individually. I use this extension primarily on one or two websites. It'd be so perfect if it was the opposite OR AT LEAST GIVE ME AN OPTION TO. Like I don't get it, why does night shift have 3 options, Only on(THE ONE I WANT), Everywhere, Everywhere except(the only option for dark mode currently!). Please fix this.
This has been my 5-star best-of-its-kind extension for some time ... flawless, easy to configure, site specific, etc.; sadly, something happened to it today 08/23/2025 (without any other change in my system), Night Shift has stopped working, and - what is even worse - it seems to drastically slow down the loading of any tab. Very sorry to have to give up this extension.
i needed this for like forever
It only continues to be valid when using Opera and videos are made full screen. It does not work when made full screen in Chrome and others. Night mode does not show fully on some pages. The signs I need to see are lost.

Won't properly save the address of websites on whitelist. Only want to apply on google maps but will list google.com instead.
I've tried every dark mode extension I could find, and this is the first one I've found that actually accounts for websites set up with tables. The others made the background dark and left glaring white lines, which felt even worse from the contrast. Using with Chrome 120.0.6099.129 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Night Shift is not working well with the latest version of MS Edge browser. It flashes white or some random color. Sometimes when I'm a web page, it'll flash my desktop as though it was an x-ray. Edge is unusable unless I disable Night Shift.

Can you add an optional textbox for hex/rgb input. I'm unable to use so many cool colors from online palettes.

my favorite one, other "dark modes" just do everything black and text extra brightly white whish is not nice at all but this one instead adds a layer on the whole website making it less bright while not changing the colors

One thing missing from this extension is 'Exclude this site' button. So that we can't exclude a site easily without going to Settings and copy-paste the site's url.

Hi Nightshift team. I like this ext, moved from the older non-redux version; The main case when I turn it off is for video conferencing. It would be awesome to have a whitelist... a lightlist (?) of websites that are exempt from the extension, like https://meet.google.com Thank you :)
