It's definitely the best thing out there for converting articles so I can easily listen/learn while I do other things. It does have some downsides though. 1) It does not convert pdf files. 2) It doesn't have enough options for playback speed. I wish I could adjust it to 1.25 or 1.35. 3) I wish it didn't read all of the in-text citations within scientific articles out loud.

The visual layout was sleek and mostly convenient (much better than other text-to-speech extensions that brought you to another website to do the conversion). Plus the green, black, and white color scheme is nice and I appreciate the voice and speed customization options. This would honestly get 5 stars if it didn't completely stop working this week. Please see to it that this issue gets fixed. I will miss this Chrome extension, but I obviously can't keep something that doesn't work. Overall: great design, just focus on app longevity and don't download if you want something that works longer than a few weeks.

I HAVE YET to find an article it can read. Each and every article I have tried to use the extension with has been met with the "whoops, we weren't able to convert this page for you." A bit disapointed that it doesn't create a podcast though; it would be useful to be able to subscribe to an RSS feed to easily download the recordings for offline access later. Audio files can be downloaded individually though. Doesn't convert PDFs yet, but works well with web pages.
• (2020-10-13) Brian Roach: Love it! Only issue is the crackling sound it makes when starting to speak again after each sentence. The system detects the audio is stopped, but then it starts abruptly and causes some unpleasant crackling sound. Does this for me with both voices on Mac. Otherwise, it's incredible and I highly recommend it!

I just wish the was an accompanying android app so I could cue up articles on my computer and then listen to them on my commute (right now I'm using Pocket for this).   Hello. I've just started using your extension. It works great but I have been having trouble syncing across devices for some reasons. Also, I was wondering if your developers were considering adding a context menu or right click, option for example "send link to Podcastle playlist." It would be great to right click links and add them directly to the playlist without first opening each page. Finally, about TTS speed. It would be great if the user had more granular control of the speed. For me, normal is too slow and 1.5X is too fast. 1.2X would be splendid. Looking forward to using Podcastle daily.   I added the extension and then went to an article to use it. I was directed to a website to create an account. I appeared to be successful as I was given the option to log out and it showed my email address at the top right corner of the screen. However, when I clicked on the extension as directed, it asked me to log in. I tried 6 times to recreate the account.I first used my Google account and then returned to the article to have it create a podcast. I tried using my email account, but it would not progress to the next screen - so I tried to log in using my Facebook account, which said that it logged me in - but again when I activated the extension from the website with the article - the extension asked me to log in - despite the fact that one of my Chrome Tabs was your website stating that I was logged in.   I literally can't figure out how it works. I installed it and tried to sign up. I didn't get any further because the 'continue' button on the website didn't do anything. I tried signing in with a gmail account and didn't get any further after saving account information. Please make a tutorial or something like that. I've heard good things about this extension. I just need a text to speech app that doesn't sound like a robot and can adjust speed.
