  • (2021-11-22) Jessie MA: doesn't even sync properly between the Android app and Chrome plugin. If you don't sync my passwords what are you good for????
  • (2021-11-19) Chris Zizi: Gets the job done for the most part with minor nuances, those being improperly adding information as login data such as 2 factor authentication codes or monetary values when conducting online payments such as a parking citation. The other nuance I found pertains to password suggestions in the app version being pretty unreliable. It seems the app struggles to discern whether you need a password suggested for an account or not and will take you to an "add account" screen by default versus the password suggestion toast that is supposed to pop up instead. Aside from those, the UI is clean, the functionality is present and it has been a huge time saver for me when forgetting log in info and not having to worry about remembering new log in info when making new accounts. Good UX, but lots of room for growth to be a great UX.
  • (2021-10-05) Mike Mason: I used to use DropBox password standalone - it was great. This is a dreadful retrograde step. I'm not always on the internet, (not everywhere in the world has it), I can't work out how to have it load automatically, the instructions are non-existent, it doesn't auto-fill things like the old version used to. Total disaster really - why ever did they take a perfectly good product and 'improve' it.
  • (2021-09-04) Martin M: MASSIVE MASSIVE disappointment. Clunky, only works sporadically, now they have ditched the deskptop app and I cant find the list of passwords! They've just phoned this one in.... hope they actually put some effort into it as would rather pay for a decent app rather than a half assed add on
  • (2021-08-17) Nirmal Singh: I like the passphrase security option - I don't have to remember a long complicated password with special characters etc. 50 free passwords is plenty for me right now, open to upgrading but so far so good. I recommended it to my wife, who is notorious for forgetting passwords & account names. She didn't listen.
  • (2021-08-12) Jay Davis: So far so good with DropBox passwords no complaint on my end ill give them a whopping 5 stars. i feel very confident and secure.
  • (2021-08-12) Teddy Tiger: WARNING! UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE DO *NOT* LOSE YOUR RECOVERY WORDS. DROPBOX WILL NOT HELP YOU IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER IF YOU LOSE YOUR DEVICE, LOSE ACCESS TO YOUR DEVICE OR IN ANY WAY LOSE ACCESS TO YOUR RECOVERY WORDS. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF RECOVERY, INCLUDING FROM WITHIN YOUR *OWN* DROPBOX ACCOUNT. BACK UP YOUR PASSWORDS AND GET RID OF DROPBOX PASSWORDS!!
  • (2021-08-12) Shaquon Kelley: Loving the app so far!
  • (2021-08-11) Yi Zhang: Love it! With intuitive UI and works like a charm!
  • (2021-08-10) Jialei Duan: Does Not support Chrome beta or Chrome Canary.
  • (2021-07-15) John Zhang: Not sure if Dropbox has lost their minds hiring incompetent people doing this app. The app is a great idea. Implementation is horrible. It does not work on my broswer here. It does not work on my app. Dropbox should simply fire them all and fold up this program.
  • (2021-03-29) Wayne Murray: All it seems to do is store your password. Does not auto fill your info when you go to a site. Does not auto launch to the site. Unless you want to copy and paste every time you go to a site I find to to be useless.
  • (2021-03-21) Sally Groom: Couldn't even get it to work. The extension wouldn't recognise the app. Uninstalled and reinstalled both several times, and played around with the order I did it, with no success. I'll stick to LastPass until such time as this gets better.
  • (2021-03-16) Steve Long: I tried to switch to the Dropbox app from LastPass due to LastPass' money grab. I'm terribly disappointed with the Dropbox app. CONS: -- Doesn't recognize the username and / or password field on many regular HTML websites. -- Doesn't recognize the username and / or password field on most JavaScript login popups. -- The chrome extension forces the user to download the standalone app from the Windows Store. -- Said Windows Store app doesn't support right click copy and pasting (use CTRL-C and CTRL-V). -- Windows Store app doesn't remember it's window size or position. I tried maximizing and also dragging the border to make the view bigger. Every time the app was closed the window size reset to the default (too tiny) view. -- No folder organization. -- No duplicate password audit. -- No darkweb audit for compromised passwords. -- Since there's no folder organization, the only way to organize passwords is by manually prepending the password's site title with some sort of label, ie. Social Media - Facebook; Social Media - Instagram; Social Media - Twitter; etc. But it's impossible to edit the site title on the initial save. The only way to edit is to save with whatever default title the password gets {quite often login.acount.com or some such), then open the Windows Store app and scour the list of passwords to find the entry (with no organization, headings, or white space, then manually edit the title. Very labor intensive and a waste of time. -- Updated passwords create a new, duplicate entry instead of recognizing existing URLs. -- The process of updating passwords is backwards clunky and causes the old password to be overwritten before the new password is confirmed and saved. Copy paste your old password to notepad until the new password is confirmed and saved by the website! -- There's no way to generate a one-time OR a first-time password for new account creation. To generate one-time passwords, the user has to add a new entry, generate the password, then exit without saving. To generate a first-time password, the user has to add a dummy entry, generate the password, and save the dummy entry. Then go back into the list of passwords to find the entry (see above ... /sigh), and edit it with the correct account information for the new account. Bad, bad, design. -- No deleted items archive or recycle bin. -- Using the text entry fields in the generator settings cause the app to crash to desktop. PROS: -- There's a copy username feature (that's all ... /shrug) Frankly, the entire experience is clunky and half-a$$ed. I'll be switching password managers (again) ASAP.
  • (2020-12-20) Rastarr: As a long time Dropbox user, I find the password manager cumbersome and difficult to use. And that's when it works which is seldom. You guys need some (or all of) Folder, Tags and Categories. Also being able to import via JSON would be extremely helpful in my moving from Enpass. Under macOS, I don't see any menu option addition, the same as other Pswd Managers either. I'll look at Dropbox Passwords in another 6 months to see if it's gotten any better. I hope it does as I'd prefer to use Dropbox
  • (2020-12-15) matt merle: Very slow, only works half of the time and does't support chrome canary.
  • (2020-11-13) Oliver: 必须要有桌面应用。 无法打开此应用包。 原因:解析应用包时出错。
  • (2020-10-29) Taylor Latch: It works and is a better solution than using your web browsers to store sensitive passwords. It is a new service though and is missing a lot of things you would want from a password manager. I'm guessing as time goes on they will start adding these features. Currently I'm using 1Password (paid) as my password manager, the Dropbox vault is clean but nowhere near 1Password. Pros: Clean Easy to use Browser extensions + desktop App Works with your Dropbox Plus login 2-factor and other security options available Cons: No Tagging or Categories (vaults) No Autofill in Browser (annoying) No Auto password creation based on new logins (if I sign into a new website, 1Password will ask me if I want to save or update it & automatically remembers the web address - this Dropbox extension doesn't seem to do it, lots of manual labor...) -- I'll play with it some more another time, it's always nice to consolidate apps (especially paid Dropbox & 1Password apps). Hopefully they release some major updates soon.
  • (2020-10-24) gary van dyke: So far, very confusing and it has locked up. I'm getting a "Something went wrong ..." error. Not a very helpful message. I rebooted but it didn't help. I've spent a day dealing with windows update issues so its probably related to that. I'll keep trying because I'm not thrilled with lastpass lately except that I prefer Lastpass' organizational system and I need a form filler for credit card payments, etc.
  • (2020-10-19) John Wall: Quick and easy to set up. Imported all my passwords from Valt and up and running on multiple devices in less than 5 minutes.
  • (2020-10-04) Edwin Boersma: Switching from 1Passwords, where I had vaults for all my family members. Very strong function that is. Would be great to see this in Dropbox Passwords in the (very) near future. The Chrome extension is buggy. I need to reinstall it now and then because it stopped working. Just restarting Chrome doesn't help in that case. Good that Passwords is free for premium Dropbox users. It saves me a lot of money.
  • (2020-09-04) bastiaan klooster: I am switching from 1password, because I now have to pay a lot per month there. Since I have an expensive dropbox account, dropbox passwords is free for me. Worth a try. Unfortunately this product is not finished yet. I work on a Macbook with Chrome, everything updated. Passwords are sometimes not automatically saved, for example on the amazon.nl website. Sometimes passwords will store a password, but it takes a long time to show it. When changing my gmail password, passwords does not recognise the change and I have to enter the new password manually in the app. Sometimes the password manager does not appear when I am in the login field. A button in the extensions bar or right click menu option is missing to force the password manager to be called up in these cases (this feature is included in 1password). If the password is saved, the title will often be incorrect. For example on the aliexpress.com website: the titel becomes 'Login' instead of Aliexpress.
  • (2020-08-25) Webpage Mage: Needs the option to automatically minimize the system tray upon OS bootup. Also needs to be reconfigured / updated to differentiate between Google accounts. I have a secondary account running in a separate Chrome instance, but for some reason it just refuses to recognize / add any new sites within the second instance. LastPass seems MUCH more stable. I may switch back even though this one is free with paid subscription.
  • (2020-08-20) Nick Paonessa: I'm switching to this from LastPass. It's not there feature for feature yet, (that's why only 4 stars and not 5) but I live in DropBox. I know this is not a company that sits on their hands. I know this will get better over time. Out of the gate though, I like it enough to switch.

  • (2020-08-18) yohichiroh sakai: 全く使い物にならない。 デスクトップアプリをインストール済みにも関わらず、「デスクトップ アプリが必要です」のメッセージが出て何も出来ない。 インストールしたことを後悔している。全くの時間の無駄だった!!!
  • (2020-08-17) Miha Brodaric: nice on Chrome, but not working od Edge
  • (2020-08-16) Dominique Gisquiere: Well, good idea but many things are missing. And it's very slow... Maybe I'll give it another chance later when most of the common password manager features will be implemented (secure notes, attachments, folders...). In addition, the app/site matching is pretty bad (must be improved by matching part of the url field, or name for example).
  • (2020-08-15) Vince Giordano: I switched to this password manager from Bitwarden. Pros: -Free (as long as you have one of the higher-end paid plans with Dropbox) -Mobile app Cons: -VERY SLOW when you try to edit a password listing. VERY FRUSTRATING, adds more time to a time-consuming task to begin with. -The Chrome extension simply opens a Windows 10-like store app. It does not open the password manager only within Chrome. Once you copy a password, the app remains open in the background. Also, when opening the password manager, the mouse cursor is not ready for you to type; you have to click in the space every time. -Only for passwords. No ability to create notes alone. -No categories/groups for your passwords. They are all bunched together -Importing from Bitwarden created many duplicate listings. -No ability to upload attachments to password listings (Bitwarden premium allows this).
  • (2020-08-14) Shengyu chen: The onboarding was not smooth as mentioned by other folks. thought they would have optimized this more. The reason I downloaded this is because i really trusted dropbox. Hopefullly they will deliverer in the future
  • (2020-08-13) Eric Chang: very lengthy process, I thought it was integrated into the dropbox apps I already use. This requires me to download another app, and it's very confusing.
  • (2020-07-17) Kamil Pitonak: Nice! Now I can start living in Dropbox. With this app they did what these guys do consistently with every product of theirs; they strip the unnecessary and leave the essential. Works like magic, clean design, you can import your existing passwords from Chrome easily or as a *.csv file from any other password manager (LastPass in my case). Sure the sharing feature is missing for now but hopefully they are on it. Thanks for the app to all the developers!
