SOOK is a shopping assistant for Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge that lets you easily browse & buy from amazing Local and Small Batch Brands. You can either:

1) Open SOOK in your browser bar and search by typing in what you are looking for, or search by Category.

2) When you search for products on selected large retailer site Like Amazon.com - SOOK will notify you if it finds something similar from a Small Batch or Local Brand.

SOOK currently has thousands of Small Batch and Local Brands, millions of products, and is adding more everyday. Enjoy!

IMPORTANT: Sook asks you to set up a profile so you can save products you like and return to them. We do not track or sell your data.

Edward Nagurny 2023-03-19: Installs without authorization across google accounts. Doesn't uninstall across your chrome platform. Trash app.
Zundfolge 2022-08-04: Several flaws: 1) it works off of your location, so since I use a VPN it thinks I'm half way across the country from where I actually am (should give us the option of manually entering location). 2) Doesn't seem to be a search function, so all I can do is browse. 3) Doesn't allow me to click on a store's name and then have it give me the physical address so I can go there in the physical world and buy the item (or just shop for similar items they might not have listed). So yeah, this is nothing like "Amazon for local businesses".

Ben B 2021-08-04: It's a good concept, but it's pretty difficult to use. The extension window is small and if you open any of the links or click off the extension it closes it completely and you have to start over from the beginning.
Benjamin Kaupp 2021-08-04: This vendor uses duplicitous advertising practices, buying accounts on Reddit to spam their product. You will also notice that most of their 5-star reviews follow the same formula of one sentence about the great product and the next sentence about begging more vendors to sign up.

Jim Crutcher 2021-05-26: I love the concept, but am not seeing the kind of things I'm looking for. An example would bicycle shops in my area. Gardening is another interest. When I clicked on "Want to see your favorite small business on Sook? Tell us about it HERE", in order to suggest these, it wanted to know how I wanted to open this. I'm hoping this will develop into a more robust platform for buying local.
mark cohen 2021-03-22: Hi! I'm sure you're already aware that we need a way to manually set our location on devices without gps or using a vpn. The IP 'guess' for my desktop is off by ~4.5 miles. My son's vpn is about 70. Like the idea. Hope this works out, and you can expand it to other types of retailers and services. TIL: Apparently, there are people stupid enough to shell out $337 for a plain white tee shirt.

Daniel Mautz 2020-12-01: 1. Search defaults to 3 miles, so nothing shows up until I change distance. 2. Search window is so small that it isn't useful to browse and isn't re-sizable. 3. Search window shows scroll bars, but they don't work, I have to be very careful to click the small area between products and then use the space-bar to scroll. I agree with an earlier comment that a companion website would be a better way to browse products. I understand there are features that can only be accomplished through an extension, but forcing all search into a less-than-ideal user interface is just making users exit the app when they want to shop.

Victoria S 2020-08-24: Not a convenient way to actually shop the small business's store. Would work better as a website. This extension is just a tiny shopping window with no active functionality other than adding things to the app's cart. Also, there's no links directly to the store I'm viewing. Isn't the point to promote the small business?
