Adds probabilistic gender info to Google Scholar and PubMed searches

Image from store Citation Transparency
Description from store In many fields, men and women are not cited at the level that one would expect given their prevalence in the field. One way we can help mitigate this bias is by making the perceived genders of first and last authors of papers more transparent in the search for references. Towards this goal, this extension adds probabilistic gender information to paper searches on Google Scholar and PubMed.

  • (2020-09-22) Lorenzo Caciagli: Convenient, easy-to-install tool that allows obtaining probabilistic gender info while searching for articles/citations. Works well both with PubMed and Google Scholar. Strongly recommend!

Hello! I have installed this extension and restarted my browser, but it doesn't seem to be working in google scholar or pubmed for me (tried the sample search "gender bias in academic articles" and a couple of other searches). The extension settings have "Automatically allow access on the following sites" turned on for google scholar and pubmed (default settings). I also tried turning off safe browsing protection for chrome, but that didn't seem to help. Are there any other dependencies that I should install or settings I should change to get this running?
