Image from store Seizafe - Epilepsy Alert for YouTube™
Description from store Seizafe flaunts a life saving algorithm and a beautiful user-experience designed to warn you before any rapidly flashing scenes in YouTube™ videos. Countless YouTube™ videos these days have no warnings whatsoever for any impending Epileptic content, thus imposing an unforeseen danger upon those among us who have the condition. Seizafe is (specially 🌼) designed for people with Photosensitive-Epilepsy / any other neurological disorder, keeping you safe from unexpected jarring/flashing/bright transitions in videos which could cause deadly Photosensitive seizures. Since anyone can develop epilepsy, Seizafe is an ideal solution to narrow down the chances of you developing the condition, even as a healthy individual. The sensitivity of the algorithm to identify flashing content can be adjusted to your preference via the sensitivity controls in the pop-up menu on our extension. Seizafe is ideal for public computer labs/kiosks/lounges eg. in hotels, schools, hospitals, offices, airports etc. Public safety is a very important value to keep those around us safe, even from the simple but unexpected dangers of videos. Seizafe is one Chrome Extension with a greater story behind it. Be safe. Be kind.💜

  • (2023-02-25) Macalvand: Works well, very sensitive, perhaps too sensitive. Even on the low sensitivity the video auto-pauses all the time while watching online lectures with fast slide transitions.
  • (2022-12-09) Łukasz Martynowicz: Wow! This is a game changer for me. I was hoping for this kind of extension for years, and it's finally here. Just installed it and tested it (with the help of my wife, for obvious reasons) on a video which caused a serious problem once before, and it worked like charm. Now please expand it to streaming services. Having it working on sites like Disney+ or HBO would be so, so great. Kudos to you!
  • (2022-05-07) Aaron Delgado: Works beautifully on my laptop but I've been trying to get it to work on my Android Phone and/or Android Tablet and nothing's working. Is it not compatible?
  • (2022-03-03) James Mukasa: This works perfectly well, it's so sensitive... It's helpful, I recommend...
  • (2022-02-16) Pacsonic 9000: Almost 5 stars. The only problem is that when you try to play a YouTube Shorts video, the extension places a big purple exclamation mark circle over the short and adds a purple hue to the video and there's no way to close it as the shorts plays. It works as advertised for regular videos. Please fix the YouTube Shorts bug I mentioned reuelthecloudwalker. Once you do, then I'll add a star.
  • (2022-02-02) Bye Bye, It was fun while it lasted v2: This works 100% a time. It never fails.
  • (2021-11-07) Antonio Vera: This should be factory installed in google chrome
  • (2020-09-13) karen Paulcina: Helpful extension .

The Seizafe overlay cannot be dismissed on YouTube shorts, and the shorts aren't automatically paused either.
  • (2022-12-19, v:0.0.0.2) Sebastian Tembles: Will you be releasing a firefox version?
I heard about this extension through tumblr and would love to use it because it'd be a very helpful accessability feature; but, a while ago, tumblr convinced me to switch to firefox, and with google's adblock breaking changes to chromium hitting sometime next month, I'm absolutely not going back to chrome. So, would you please look into publishing a version of this for firefox?
  • (2022-12-09, v:0.0.0.2) Łukasz Martynowicz: Improvement request
There should be a duration of flashy sequence included in the warning, or a sound prompt when it is safe to watch again after the sequence ends. As it is now, I still need help from someone with establishing when I can open my eyes.
