  • (2021-05-16) mingk Chung: Thank Dharam for this wonderful plugin for Roam Research. Roam is the second brain, and Roam Portal helps me immensely to location the information -- Remember the dawn of the internet age that you don't really get what you want until Google arrives? I really hope the author could implement page-level search (search all the block in a same page) rather than just block-level search (only search in the same block). Usually there are hierarchy in the outlier app, e.g., first level is "project A", and 2nd level is "feature A", and rest of the notes about "feature A" are nested in "feature A" block. If I want to search a note about "feature A", typing "feature A" and other keywords could quickly narrow down to a list of relevant blocks. Once again thanks for the plugin and keep up the good work!
  • (2021-04-17) John Lee: it was introduced in Roam Book Club (Beau Haan), and it is a must-have, essential tool for everyone who takes roam and knowledge management system seriously.
  • (2021-02-24) ShawnPMurphy8: Absolutely amazing! Couldn't imagine using Roam without Roam Portal! And Dharam is so responsive to feedback and always adding new features!
  • (2021-02-18) Victor ESQUERREla: Really a great piece of work, filling the void of default graph view in roam research when complexity come. Congrats !!!
  • (2021-02-06) Kura *__M. Kuramoto__*: It is a very helpful tool to interact with Roam Graph - several functions and features that Roam native doesn't have.
  • (2021-01-02) J S: Thank you. Keep up the good work, kind developer. Continue to work and share your work with the world. Best wishes for 2021!
  • (2020-11-15) David L: Good tool for research in tons of information. However, the search box seems too big and I cant drag it. As a result the bottom of search results cant be seen. The environment is chrome in windows. Edit: I am stupid because I have zoomed the browse bigger. This is why it was not a suitable size.
  • (2020-11-10) David Eaton: This is brilliantly done. Definitely a must-have for anyone who uses Roam Research. Strongly recommend. And it keeps getting better. The new visualizations are incredible!!
  • (2020-11-09) Linda Koomen: I'm blown away by this extension. It looks and works great!
  • (2020-10-27) Byard Parks: This is better than I could have hoped. I was working on Roam just the other day and thinking to myself "The search feature of Roam is somewhat lame. I wonder if that is on any one's radar" Wow! Problem solved! So cool.
  • (2020-10-09) Abhay Prasanna: Game changing - surfaces insights on my own DB I would have never found with Roam's native query/search capabilities. Moreover, using the extension to explore a public DB is a delight. Can't wait for what Dharam has next for us!

  • (2022-09-20, v:7.0.0) Petr Doležal: Add a closing button?
Hi I love it, the search capabilities are indespensible! However, I'm a dumb dumb and often can't remember which keyboard shortcut triggers it for me. This is fine if I can't open it, I just won't get to use it. But if I finally do manage to hit it, after spending some time searching, I forget it again, and can't figure out how to close it. Any chance you can add a close button next to the fullscreen button? It's likely the first time everyone tries your app, they'll be looking for a close button. The app is a popup after all. I imagine an advance version could also react to clicking outside of the search window, to turn Portal off and bring us back to Roam, but just a button would be sweet for now.
  • (2021-09-13, v:7.0.0) geek mee: Does Roam Portal work on mobile iOS (iPad)?
I am running the latest iOS version
  • (2021-07-22, v:7.0.0) Eduardo Inal: Exclude daily notes from graph
Hi Dharam, great work ! Thank you very much for you generosity. One question, how can we exclude daily notes from the gragh view? Thanks
  • (2021-06-25, v:7.0.0) john wheeler: Desktop support
I use the roam desktop app. Is there a way to support the desktop app with this extension?
  • (2021-06-19, v:7.0.0) Jason smith: Keyboard Shortcuts
Dharam, love your extension. Use it so much that I need keyboard shorcuts, please! After launching the search (with a keyboard shorcuts), I would love to go to "Recently edited" or "recently completed tasks" with a shortcuts. Also, switch tabs like "Globe" "Graph" etc. Could you please add that to the roadmap? Would make me use more of your awesome tool. Thanks,
  • (2021-05-16, v:6.0.0) Ben McCarthy: 'Exclude' terms from search
Hi, I love this plugin. It really helps view the 'meta' data on my Roam which is super useful. But for an 'advanced search engine', there needs to be a way to exclude terms from your search, equivalent to Google's '-'. Example use case: Exclude dates, attributes, and other 'meta' pages from the graph visualisation, as these links make the 'real' connections between pages hard to see and limit its actual usefulness.
  • (2021-04-08, v:6.0.0) Jason Smith: Thank you thank you!
Dharam, keep up the awesome work. I am so impressed by you talent (it inspires me to work harder as I am a student). Hope you continue to maintain this extensions (as many die off due to creators not working on it later). Best wishes,
  • (2021-01-03, v:3.0.0) Elizabeth Henning: "Saved Search" is just a tag?
I'm confused about how the "saved search" list works. From the description, it looks like it just displays the linked references for any blocks tagged with [[RoamPortal-Search]]. So it's not really a saved search, but a list of bookmarked blocks. Is this right?
  • (2020-11-01, v:1.1.0) Way Ahead: Thanks this is awesome!
Hi -- You really have made something incredible here. Please consider helping the people at Logseq -- (open source) maybe you could create the same thing for them but have it actually a functional part of their software.
