• (2025-09-14) I used to love this extension but the new update removed my old theme I spent so much time on and it's now impossible to figure out. It used to be easy to navigate now I can't even figure out how to make it recognize my new courses and remove the old ones, so I can't even customize my course cards. It's also not aesthetically pleasing anymore and won't allow me to not do the free subscription trial. Why am I not allowed to remove the subscription trial from my account? Ruined a good thing.

• (2025-09-09) before the update ts used to work now when i refresh it reverts back to the original canvas + the notifications that are in the corner everytime i open a new tab + the paywall.. ts is getting deleted
• (2025-09-09) I have used BetterCanvas for years, and I loved it for how simple it made canvas look and feel. I never had to worry about forgetting when an assignment was due because it was all on the front page. Ever since the latest update, though, that experience has gotten exponentially worse. The features I loved for years are now locked behind a paywall, forcing me to get a free trial for an extension that was free for years. I can no longer access my files because my school blocked the updated extension. The whole UI is glitchy, overly complicated, and strays away from the original goal of making a better canvas for students. I hate to go back to basic canvas after using this for years, but the current state of the extension has made it unusable. I really hope the developers address these issues. If they can't, it would be great if they added a feature that allowed people to revert back to the version they know and love while still letting those who want the new update to have it.

Idk why people are hating on it so much after the new update, it's fine and it added some of my favorite features, like the better todo list and the clean sidebar, and of corse I have to mention the immense library of themes, (some of them better then others.) Overall, nothing broke with the new update.

I have been using for quite some time and this is the first time that each theme I select keeps reverting to the original canvas look or even when I add a new image for my cards the image suddenly disappears. Everytime I refresh my page my themes revert back to original Canvas view or even with a weird mix of regular canvas and my themes. Every time I select dark mode, nothing happens. I'm severely disappointed especially since it is usually such a good extension
• (2025-09-07) Old version was much better and easier to use. GPA option will not let me change it to calculate graded assignments only. It is also pulling grades from classes I am no longer a part of where the professor did not set an end date for the course. There is no way to remove them. Navigation is fine after spending about 30 minutes trying to figure it out. I did not mind setting up an account, but forcing a free trial where most of the features do not work is pretty low. I hope these things get fixed, but until then I think I will stick with normal Canvas.
• (2025-09-07) i had used bettercanvas for years and this update is literally horrific. im glad i only updated on one of my devices and the others can remain with the previous version. its also ridiculous how everything thats good and free eventually gets a paywall. why do we need to pay for features that were previously free? what changed? id rather have a plain and ugly canvas lol
• (2025-09-07) Not sure why everyone is saying a subscription is required... I was able to customize my entire dashboard and cards just fine. The only problem is that posting custom themes and saving custom themes is currently bugged for me, which is pretty sad as I will lose all my current progress when I want to change my theme again. Hope a bug fix comes out soon.
• (2025-09-06) This update is absolutely horrible and riddled with bugs. My cards are constantly glitching into each other, making them practically unusable. To make matters worse, it keeps telling me to switch to card view even though I’m already in it. Now I’m being asked to pay for a subscription to access features that were previously available for free, which feels unfair. The new UI is an eyesore and downright frustrating to use, it’s just not functional. Despite my school’s restrictions on Canvas, which I understand, I can not change the color of my cards. On top of that, the system falsely tells me that I’m not in card view when I clearly am. This update is a major step backwards, and it's affecting my ability to use the platform efficiently.
• (2025-09-05) Dislike the new update. Doesn't let me turn of the new left sidebar and overall glitchy when customizing the theme. I do not like the account creation feature and subscription stuff. I wish I could go back to the old version.

• (2025-09-05) i liked the old one better this one it not so good. When every i put on a theme and applyed the changes i go to my do the work and it takes off the theme and my card for my classes are for the theme i had for bettercanvas

• (2025-09-04) Really loved this extension & would get asked about it all the time, but I really hate this new update. This update had too many changes at once, and it forces you to navigate it. This extension went from a very minimalistic, simple, easy-to-use extension to an overly complicated, maximalist extension that truly makes no sense. It completely changes your canvas and makes it funny looking (not in a good way). I hope they go back to what it used to look like. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

• (2025-09-04) Not working for one of my canvases. I attend two schools, so it is very disorienting. Why do I have to pay for features I used to have?
• (2025-09-04) I love this extension, although with the new update, the extension is blocked on most school accounts. They should consider making another one that is is not blocked by most school privacy detectors. Also, with the new version the GPA display is not working correctly. Stuff that hasnt been graded yet shows up as 0/however many points, which makes the gpa significantly low.
• (2025-09-04) I loved this program to keep track of all my classes and gpa. I have not been able to figure out how to be able to display my gpa on my dashboard since this update. I also hate how everything is hidden behind a pay wall. I wished that I knew this before i updated to the latest version.
• (2025-09-04) I have a 4.0 and my dashboard shows all As but in grade section it says 1.4 and im failing almost all classes, i think the issue is that it's counting assignments due in 3 months that i havent completed yet which makes no sense. Anyways soon enough im sure we'll have to pay for anything because that's how it is when you finally find a good app/extension.
