We’re partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to plant your trees – they’re one of the world’s largest tree planting organizations who have planting projects all over the globe.
➤ Installation note:
When you first open a new tab after installing the extension you’ll be prompted to enable OurForest – hit enable! That will make it your default tab where you can search using Google or Ecosia and measure how you’re helping our precious planet. Your new tab will change back if you uninstall the extension.
➤ What can I do to plant more trees?
The OurForest extension is free, and always will be. We made this extension for people like you who actually give a F*&K about the planet, to do good in the simplest possible way.
However, this isn’t a fix all solution and there are ways you can do more:

➤ Why should I care about reforestation?
Tree planting has the power to transform lives in so many ways. When we plant trees, we hire local communities and do the research to know what native ecosystems we should be restoring.
Most of our tree planting is focused in biodiversity hotspots around the world, which are often the most affected by poverty, poor regulation and as a result deforestation. This affects both the local people’s ability to farm and their protection against natural disasters, but also the habitats of endangered species.
Your trees help fight poverty, protect land, and instate rules and regulation that protect the local communities ran by the communities.

I have two different Chrome profiles, one with my personal email and one with my school email, and I like that I can use the same OurForest account on both profiles. One cute idea for the future is maybe making the home screen more customizable with photos or artwork to choose from!

If there are organisations like OurForest, Ecosia, OpenTabs ect that legitimately help our planets wild life and environment, for simply using a search engine that is non profit. Why doesn't every able individual use them? Seriously, if you even care about the environment a tiny bit, its 100% worth at least checking it out! Worst case scenario is you plant a tree, didn't like it, change back to google or whatever... Personally, I recommend using both Our Forest and Ecosia extension alongside each other to maximize your impact on the environment :)

- (2022-06-16) karim naishtat: Muy buena idea algo que tambien me parece muy bueno es que te contabilizan los arboles(y no solo arboles sino la tierra protegida y las horas remuneradas de trabajo) y que la plata ganada es por pestaña(algo muy bueno tambien es que la publicidad es de solo compañias que apoyan el medio ambiente) lo recomiendo mucho y les aconsejo que como barra de busqueda pongan a ecosia y no a google así hacen doble inpacto

Planting trees is one of the most effective way to mitigate climate change effects and reduce our carbon footprint for that matter. The extension is extremely easy to use and has a very clean interface.

It's nice knowing that I'm helping the planet while studying, I have only planted 1 tree in my life and unfortunately I never had the chance to plant more since I'm busy with my studies. But now I can work AND plant trees at the same time. What I like most is that the app is very detailed and transparent, you can see how many trees you actually planted with the progress bar, amount of land you protected, and the amount of work hours you created for the people that need it. You can also see in what location you planted your tree at with just once click! Not only that, but the tabs look so cute, and I can also use Ecosia together with this extension! There's really no reason to NOT download this extension, if you can't plant trees yourself, why not get this app and save the world while at it? It's easy to use too!

So far I planted two trees, protected 6,4m² of land and created 4,8 work hours with many, many, many more to come! Is it worth it to change your 'normal' browser for the OurForest one? You bet it is! And if you also start searching through Ecosia you'll get not-your-average search results!!!
