I used "Twitch Theater Mode for YouTube" before, and it became broken today earlier, so I tried this one instead, but it also doesn't work. I feel like the cause is probably on the YouTube-side. edit 1: It seems like it stopped working again since yesterday(2023/8/18) edit 2: I saw that there was an update on 2023/8/20, but it's still not working properly like before for me. • (2023-08-20) Troy Horn: This extension is AMAZING if you watch livestreams and want to interact with chat. It works very well, and the various options included should give most people the interface they want. The only thing is that it breaks often because of changes on the YouTube side, so I don't fault the dev for it. It's just a waiting game for them to find out what changed and update the extension, which so far as I have discovered does not take very long. (Even if it FEELS like forever) The only thing I would like is if it had an option to make the theater mode fit the full height of the window, I end up needing a separate extension for that.

• (2023-08-19) Eric W: YouTube's stock views for live streams, full screen video with the chat below and out of sight or default video with the chat to the side but only using a small portion of the screen on anything larger than 1080p, are both terrible. This extension fixes that. There's a lot of handy additional settings, like the toggle to move the chat to the left side which I use all the time. I only realize how indispensable this extension is when it breaks (which it is at the time I'm writing this review), but since that only happens when YouTube makes some change on their end without warning and the dev usually fixes it quickly, I'm not going to take off any stars for that.

I wish I could also use it for mobile. Unfortunately, the screen adjustment is slightly broken with whatever change is currently going with youtube. The size is a bit off and the end of text is cutoff in the chat "not over video" mode. Thanks for the closest thing to FFZ on Youtube, and I hope the team continues to support this extension! Thanks!

  Hello, I left a review for compatibility with ChatReplay for this extension (YouTube Livestreams Theater Mode). Thanks for replying to the review, I appreciate your attention. After reading your reply, I think there's been a misunderstanding. The "ChatReplay" I mentioned is a separate extension available on the Chrome Web Store which allows you to watch Twitch stream archive videos (uploaded to certain participating channels on YouTube, for example @JermaStreamArchive) with the archived Twitch chat replay. It is not the standard YouTube livestream chat replay. It used to be that the chat replay box added by ChatReplay is recognized by YouTube Livestream Theatre Mode, and the user is able to enter stream theatre mode with the button, same as normal YouTube streams' chat replays. However, since a while ago, this hasn't been the case. This is the issue that I was referring to in my review. I understand that compatibility with another extension isn't exactly a priority, but hopefully now the issue is well explained, and you can answer whether it will be worked on or not.

  When watching old livestream vods in theater mode, Hovering on the video shows the Info of the video (which is fine) but it also shows the comments. The comments prevents you to click any of the video controls since the overlay completely blocks it. Maybe having a button to show comments like the "Show More" button for the video description will be nice.

  Hi, I am enjoying how good this extension performs for youtube livestream but I do like to have the option to allows me auto enter theater mode in a livestream, but able to disable that for a video/vod with "live chat replay". Currently they are both under the setting of "Automatically enter livestreams theater mode", maybe it is more convenience to have one sub setting for live video, and another one for regular videos.   Thanks for the latest update. That aside, is it natural behavior for the extension to start every video in theater mode? I'd like to start videos in the default view and manually go to theater mode myself. Otherwise, you could perhaps implement an option to choose the default behavior when viewing videos. On another note, the text on the overlay description looks a bit blurry/unnatural when the background opacity is set to anything less than transparent value. I noticed that there's a black border on each letter that makes them look odd. Again, would it be possible to have a toggle to remove them in the future? I personally find them unnecessary since we can already adjust the overlay opacity for text visibility. Thanks for your good work.

  There's no button that allows me to show less after clicking SHOW MORE on the video description shown by the hover overlay. The problem is that whenever I hover on the video itself, the entire video description now covers up on the entire screen and the basic Youtube video controls (volume, pause etc.) won't show up.

  One bug I notice is that when I minimize my browser and come back to enter words in the chat, it often enters random words, the work around is to relaod the stream. Can you look into this and fix this please?
