What I wanted was an extension that would automatically pull all the unneeded cruft out of the Amazon URL path and just leave me with a clean, short link to the item I am looking at. For me, Amazon URL Shortener fits this bill. Best part is, this extension recently added support for Amazon Smile URLs as well!
