But sadly, the new UI and interface YouTube just added in the new update completely broke the extension and now it's just a complete jumbled mess lol. I'll bump this review back up to 5 stars once the Dev updates this extension and gets' it working again. 5/10/2023 Edit: Everything works now, but there's just two problems. I'm unable to see dislikes, & the top bar remains dark on Theater Mode when in Light Mode. 3/27/2024: it's been breaking constantly over the past few months with little updates removing some bugs, but adding some more in so i'm gonna have to take this down to 3 stars for now until its fully functional. half of the features just straight up don't work anymore even after a reinstall so idk if this is my cup of tea anymore.

This makes it impossible to adjust the video quality and to enable or disable subtitles, which is annoying. The rest of the extension works flawlessly. I love this extension because finally I can see the YouTube user interface again the way I like it best.

Was relieved to find this plugin, but unfortunately it only changes the sidebar, channel pages, and the subscription feed. The homepage displays absolutely nothing and the actual video player is completely unchanged, with everything still squished into a box. I hope you can update it soon, and of course I will change my rating if it starts working.

  There's a new experimental UI where if you click videos on the homepage it opens it straight on the homepage with an awful mobile-like layout. The extension doesn't know how to react so it just gives a blank page with audio, but you can get the old layout back by opening the video in a new tab or refreshing after clicking.

  There's really no other options out there for restoring the homepage layout. But me, and I'm sure a lot more people are not a fan of the other changes the add on makes.   Greetings and salutations omnidev0, TLDR: The new "hide shorts" feature hides the "shorts" button from the sidebar but also hides shorts from search results, I think these two features should be separate as many old videos are turned into shorts automatically and they are being hidden if the feature is enabled. I have just updated YouTube Redux to the latest version and am thrilled to see the new "hide shorts" and "Redirect shorts to default video page" features. However upon further investigation, I discovered that the "hide shorts" feature has a slight flaw in its design. You see, upon enabling this aforementioned feature I noticed that while the "shorts" button was removed from the sidebar, this feature also had the unintended side effect of hiding any "shorts" results from the YouTube search. While I fully understand that there will no doubt be countless individuals who would appreciate such a function. I for one would have to argue that it should be separated from the "hide shorts" option. This is because the gremlin like creatures running the video-sharing website known as "YouTube" have been silently turning many old videos which just so happen to be below a certain duration into these "shorts" and so I'm sure there will be many other individuals like myself who would appreciate the option to hide "shorts" from the sidebar whilst still being able to see the videos themselves. This would prevent these old timeless classics that many have come to know & love such as "Bing bing bang rap" uploaded by trivialsam and "YANKEE WITH NO BRIM" uploaded by kruster from being hidden from the search results no doubt causing hopeless confusion in the minds of those who do not realise these two features are combined. Henceforth I shall be ending this communication and I implore you to remember that if you enjoyed the experience of reading this suggestion that you should make haste and pummel the "like" button and if you would like to receive further suggestions, actuate your computer mouse as to initiate the "subscribe" function.
