Twitch Ad Muter
Description from store

Twitch's obnoxiously loud ads will get automatically muted by this extension so you don't wake up your entire house because you wanted to watch Clint Stevens at 4 AM

not working anymore, when the first ad starts, all subsequent ads are muted properly (using Brave)

This is great. If I could ask for one feature though, it would be to have the extension play some arbitrary MP3 of my selection to act as some kind of light hold/elevator music to break the silence.

used to work, it stopped muting ADs update: Its working again

Worked on the first day. After that, NOPE

Works. I don't understand why Twitch allows their ads to play three times louder than normal streams' volume level. They startle me every time I get an ad break.

Doesn't mute preroll ads, but does mute midroll ads. Better than nothing, but I wish it muted all ads and not just the midroll ones.

I really thought, when ads playing i can still hear streamer audio. But nah. Its just lower volume ads sound

Works!! 10/10 extension, never again will twitch ignore the volume I set when they play ads

It works! (April 2024, Edge)

doesn't work for me

It works but I have to reinstall it every time I restart my pc. It will not work after turning on my pc no matter how many times I refresh a stream or switch streams but removing it and reinstalling it works, no idea why. Edit: I think I narrowed it down to why, if I have another chrome tab opened on another monitor especially for another website the muter doesn't work. If I close that tab and then refresh the twitch stream the ad muted works. Seems to have an issue knowing which tab is active/finding the twitch stream tab when an ad is playing. As for the muter not working after a restart that still seems to be the case as I had the single tab and single instance of chrome open and it did not mute the ads. For reference this is on an M1 mac using chrome for ARM. Second Edit: No longer works for me as of April 24th, remove extension and reinstall it, fully restart chrome and have a single tab with a twitch stream open and it fails to mute.

These reviews are either old news or lying because this extension works amazing. You need this now.

This extension no longer seems to work. It's also greyed out when you try to left click on it and the right click menu has options greyed out. The homepage button is a dead link, it takes you to a broken site. I guess it was fun while it lasted. Long live capitalism. D:

Terribly intermittent. Sometimes will fail to mute ads. And sometimes will just permanently mute a stream I join that isn't even playing any ads, and I have to disable and reenable.
Hazel Choi
Does not work.
Daemon Pierre
No longer mutes the first ad in a series of ads. Will mute the following but not the first.

Excellent. I use it as a backup for my adblocker which sometimes does not trigger, but this addon has had a 100% trigger rate so far.

10/10, I have wireless headphones and the ability to ignore any ad with minimal effort has been such a great QOL increase while watching twitch

Works exactly as it says on the tin. Also works on Twitch's new audio-only ads. As a bonus, it's smart enough to keep muted tabs muted if you already muted them before ads appeared.
dylan catlow
Does what it says, but has to be reset a lot. (To do this, just disable/reenable again)
Toack Fodai
Stopped working. Ads sound is again annoying.

Thank you for this extension! Twitch's ads aren't bad, but so freakishly loud.

An absolute live saver, since advertisers can't be trusted not to compress the volume up to 11.

works like a charm... there is a bug tho, if you change a channel during an add is being showed, website will stay muted entirely and you need to close twitch fully and re-open it to have sound back.

Does what it says, and is makes twitch an infinitely more pleasant experience. Small bug with keeping a tab muted if you navigate to another page before the ad finishes, but thats easy to keep in mind & avoid

Mutes ads, but if you decide in the middle of an ad that you're done with that channel, and you switch to a new channel before the ad is over, it never unmutes. You have to disable the extension to get sound back in that tab.

Perfect Extension. Only problem I've run into is it does not overrule/work if Volume Master(streamer naturally quiet) is being used, which was jarring to hear an ad that loud.

Works at muting ads, however there is a side effect of it muting VOD's so you have to turn off the extension to hear them. Other than that, very nice to have.

It's an essential extension: a lot of ads in general are jarringly loud on purpose, but especially so on streams that are often rather quiet to begin with. I am also experiencing an issue where it keeps a tab muted indefinitely, this reliably occurs when I'm tuned in to a stream and while it's playing an ad, I switch to another stream that happens to not be serving an advertisement (either because I'm subscribed or the system sees I've already watched several ads on the previous stream). In that case the extension doesn't seem to know to turn off the mute and I can't unmute it manually, refreshing doesn't help, I just have to close the tab. It doesn't override my enjoyment of the extension, saving me from loud ads is just really essential, but it's room for improvement. Some sort of manual override might also be useful in those rare cases where the ad seems kind of interesting and I'm wondering what it's about.
