Mute / Unmute Tab
Control the sound on every page with ease. This extension will mute any media playing on a page without stopping it.
Create your personal silent mode and save time by not having to search for the mute button or volume control.
Individually mute or unmute tabs temporarily using the context menu option. Simply right-click on a tab and choose "Mute Tab." Alternatively, you can interact with the extension icon to achieve the same result.
Mute Tab is a free, ad-free Chrome extension designed for seamless muting of tabs. All necessary permissions are required for proper functionality.
Features:
Quick Muting: Mute all tabs with just one click.
ON|OFF Switch: The toolbar button acts as a switch; once pressed, the icon changes its color and shape to indicate its status.
Individual Control: If you want to unmute a specific tab, right-click on the tab and select "Unmute Tab."
Note 1: If you manually unmute a tab, the extension will not override your setting, even if you click on the toolbar icon.

- (2022-01-13) Jay T: Unfortunately, this does not allow audio muting from the tab itself, you need to click onto tab and then click onto the extension icon for this to work, which is basically same as current default Chrome behaviour of two clicks (right click > Mute site). I was hoping this is like the old feature that I can click onto the speaker icon of the tab to mute that particular tab - This is not the case with this extension.
