Welcome To Exegetical Dictionary page!
This extension that allows you to quickly look up definitions of words and phrases in a clean inline box.
Hold a modifier key (Alt on Windows, Command on Mac, Ctrl on Linux) and double-click or select any word to look it up - an inline box will open to the dictionary entry of that word, usually including examples, audio pronunciation and synonyms.
Exegetical Dictionary is absolutely free chrome extension with a necessary permission range.
Among all features you'll get:
1) Double-click any word to view its definition in a small pop-up bubble.
2) View the complete definition of any word or phrase using the toolbar dictionary.
3) Store a history of words you've looked up, so you can practice them later.
Foreign words are automatically translated to your language of choice.
Supported dictionaries:

- Spanish
NOTES:
1. After installing, pages already open will not work for looking up - just refresh them and it'll be solved.
2. The Chrome Extensions Gallery pages don't allow lookup (or any on-page extensions) for security reasons.
3. This extension does add a toolbar icon. Do not forget to Pin it.
IMPORTANT:
- The pop-up bubble will not work in tabs that were open prior to installation. After installing this extension, either reload your open tabs or restart Chrome.
- Note that all extensions are disabled on Chrome Web Store pages (including this one). Do not test the extension on this page; it will not work!
- If the extension is not working for you, please make sure it's up to date. Visit chrome://extensions/, click the "Update extensions now" button, then restart Chrome.

If you opt in (via the options page), this extension will store a history of all your looked-up words and their definitions. You can download this history as a CSV file at any time. In addition, you can allow other Chrome extensions to access this history. For example, a third-party extension could produce flashcards to help you practice words you've looked up before.

- (2021-06-07) Monika Ramzy: Like everybody else here, I am looking for a replacement for the Google Dictionary extension since it stopped working. The English translation works well (despite the very brief lag. However, it doesn't translate other languages or phrases like google did so I will have to keep looking. Edit: For anybody else in the same predicament as me, I just spent most of my day downloading different extensions and the best one I found was "Rememberry" because like Google Dictionary, it gives you definitions, word translations and phrase translations at the same time Edit again: apparently it doesn't give definitions after all, just translations :( Sorry guys, I'm still looking for a solution
