The YouTube UI has a different action for the arrow keys depending on if you last selected the video, track bar, volume, or button element with your mouse. This extension redirects key events to the video element for consistent actions.

- It does not work. I load a new youtube video and the up/down arrow scrolls the page. I can't find a single extension that works properly for this issue anymore.

- What about up and down scrolling the page insted of changing the volume? I thought the whole point was that when you have a youtube video open, up and down will always change the volume and left and right will always skip forward and back

- Yep seems to work so far, left and right keys now always control timeline and up and down keys control volume, I have no idea why the overpaid brainlets can't seem to figure out that people dont want to select a UI element with their mouse and the use arrow keys for that specific UI element lol, the key shortcuts are supposed to be universal but yeah like usual, the bigger the company the lower the quality.

- I was tired of youtube always changing the volument when I use those arrow keys. It was so bad that it gave me a habit of always clicking somewhere random on a page as soon as I enter it.

- Doesn't work. Found that when mute/speaker widget is double-clicked (which just toggles mute on/off quickly) then L/R scroll and U/D volume are restored.

- This works like a charm! I kept getting fed up with YouTube videos randomly swapping my up and down arrows with skip forward/backwards! If you are having this issue too, try this! It's working great so far for me!
