  • (2022-01-21) Isaiah Goldsberry: As much as I love dark themes, the color looks more like Navy Blue than black. Try using black instead!
  • (2022-01-06) Sergio Vazquez II: Only "kind of works", mostly for Docs. But Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc. are all still BRIGHT WHITE.
  • (2021-12-23) Siddharth Khandelwal: Dark mode for Google doc not working
  • (2021-12-02) Twilight _Mourner: Sure it was alot better since it darkened my google docs but I'm unable to see my mouse cursor. It just blends in with the grey color and I have to actively squint my eyes just to see it.
  • (2021-11-30) Martin Wittmann: Pretty good. Google Drive listing is a nice dark style. What a relief! In Google Sheets and Google Docs, the sheets and the doc pages are still white, but menu and borders are dark, so it reduces bright screen eye strain somewhat.
  • (2021-11-15) Jacobthemagicalpanda: this is a pretty nice extension I do have a few complaints and hopeful improvements. my main complaint is that there is no official way to stop it from changing certain sites. The only way i found was to restrict the access it had to those sites. for example the google browser has a built in dark mode now so I don't need the google dark mode it would be nice to have a toggle for this as well as separate toggles for all the different sites. another complaint I have is in docs the page is grey which is nice on the eyes but it is almost impossible to see my curser. personally I would prefer it to be just white so I can see all the colors as they are. it would be nice to have a toggle for the workspace on here an other places like sheets and slides. If these things are improved it would be a great extension.
  • (2021-10-31) Jing Li: I am primarily looking for a dark mode for google docs that will not hurt my eyes at 3 am after the sad loss of the dark mode google docs extension to no updates and eventually a violation of the Google Chrome Store Policy. This is the level of darkness I am looking for, but it does not actually affect my page, like the written page of my document as opposed to the browser, causing it to shine bright white into my eyes and effectively blinding me. Now, this has happened to me on a number of google docs dark mode extensions, all who were working perfectly well before today, so maybe my google docs just decided to flip me the middle finger, but anyways this doesn't work for me right now. If it one day affects my actual page, I'll come back and give it a better rating and review, but until then I guess I'm going to be reduced to mobile like a sad little puppet. Edit: Updated Chrome and now the full extension works. However, the actual page looks like nothing but a shade of gray has been painted over it, which is not what I was looking for.
  • (2021-09-27) Desiree' Diggs: Didn't work on Thinkpad Chrome Book. Computer is in dark mode as well.
  • (2021-09-15) Rune Thorsen: Not working
  • (2021-08-31) Nova Fortunado: it works pretty well on google docs. for those that claim it doesn't work, your system also has to be in dark mode for it to apply. 1. i noticed the dark effect only applied where the text was on my google document which i thought was a little strange, having 2 white bars on top of and below the essay. 2. i also noticed my cursor is nearly invisible in dark mode, as the grey of the page is the same as the color of the cursor when hovering over editable text. however, its really nice for extended working and kinder on my eyes. will keep using for sure!
  • (2021-08-11) Arador: Does NOT work at all.
  • (2021-08-03) Jeremy Eden: Didn't work at all. Restarted Chrome, no changes upon clicking or right-clicking the extension icon. It was enabled but did nothing.
  • (2021-07-27) Darrell Kiely: Some things changed, others didn't. Super hit and miss. Largely miss.
  • (2021-07-05) Geoffrey Colman: It's a major improvement, but a few gripes in increasing order of importance: 1.) Some of the color choices are extremely strange to my eye (and seemingly inconsistent), and I don't like that they aren't customizable. Other, similar products offer customization options. 2.) Doesn't actually work for me at all in Sheets except for the toolbar. On the one hand, I expect this may have to do with "fill" settings, but I would think that would be accounted for? 3.) The "splash" pages (new document, template gallery, document list/grid) and top-level settings windows for Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms don't change color to dark theme as expected, only an odd block below the margin of the "new"/template block that immediately scrolls off-screen as file content loads. Strangely enough, this isn't an issue for me in Drive, as its splash page behaves as-expected.
  • (2021-05-24) Little Dragon: Honestly the best fix for the darkmode problem, I can actually look at my doc sheet without straining my eyes now
  • (2021-05-21) Daniel Moon: This extension was okay, it just wasn't for me. I just needed a dark mode for my Calendar since an old extension was deleted, and came to find this one. The privacy practices disclosed by the developer, and the description really convinced me to download (especially the fact it's for GSuite). I just wasn't satisfied with Google Calendar though, it seemed very inverted style to me, not that it was. The circles on the Calendar Month dates weren't a good look for me, along with the fact the "Day" view was just white with gray when scrolling through a specific day by itself. The month and week views were very nice though. I really liked this extension, and would recommend it to anyone, but it just wasn't specifically for me. I will come back to this in the future though, much love! <3
  • (2021-03-18) William Johnson: Looks generally nice and does its job. If you could just fix the rest of the tool icons to look more visible, and making the text a little less high contrast, i will bump this up to 5 stars ;)
