I don't need to search right when I open my browser, plus I generally go back to the same place when I reopen my browser. The ONLY way for me to change it back was to remove it.

I see no reason why I should give them the right to read my mail just because they've added a small useful tweak to their reasonably good software. Installed -- only so I could write this little complaint. Now to remove it, for the principle involved.

What I do not know is the minimum publicise of this useful tool; neither in the home of Bing there is a link to. Use the Bing Translator everywhere. Thanks, Microsoft. ;-)

• (2021-05-01) Jędrzej Stypułkowski: Even after uninstalling the extension, the new tab page and possibly other settings it changes still remain in the browser. Even worse, it seems that there is no simple way to revert it (tell me if I’m wrong). You either have to reset all your settings, manually edit config files or use 3rd party software. The extension frankly behaves like malware/adware, uninstalling it should be removing all changes. It’s a shame because I like the different wallpapers it provides. Edit: Okay, you just have to change the default search engine back from Bing and that fixes it. Still, it is not the obvious solution if you ask me.

• (2021-02-28) nocturnal digitalist: I use a lot of MS software and apps but Microsoft Bing Homepage & Search Engine is worst out of them. It says in the title it changes homepage or new tab or default tab to bing.com and search engine to bing.com but it does only the latter thing which one can do without this extension. Go and change search engine from browser settings to bing.com. But after installing, it does nothing apart from opening a tracking ID link connected to google analytics. MS team should go and use youcare extension and website (which is another privacy based search engine) and see how it changes the default tab to the extension installed. or duckduckgo extension and website. I hope next update will make team improve and correct this broken extension. Until then avoid it. Plus I request MS team to add dark mode to the bing.com site for desktop users like duckduckgo and youcare has default and to edge browser like opera browser android has. White screen blinds night users. It is good that under Privacy practices, this extension collects no data which I hope they dont change else to.
