What is IPA?
The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is an alphabetic system of phonetic notation.
The IPA spelling system (phonetic transcription) is more reliable than the English spelling system because the spelling of an English word does not tell you how you should pronounce It.
Linguists designed IPA to be unambiguous: every symbol has only one pronunciation. When you read a word in IPA, you'll know exactly how to pronounce it.
Why should I learn IPA ?
The IPA is used by lexicographers, foreign language students and teachers, linguists, speech-language pathologists, singers, actors, constructed language creators and translators.

- El dar diferenes IPAS de diferentes lenguas me parece genial, pero la aplicaci贸n de Chrome tiene ciertos defectos que a la larga hacen dif铆cil su utlizaci贸n pues: A) La carga del html que trae la aplicaci贸n luego de hacer click en el 铆cono de aplicaci贸n es muy lenta. B) No se puede cambiar cual voz queremos, ni se puede predeterminar si la queremos por palabras o por oraci贸n. C) Ser铆a muy 煤til que al dar doble clic, triple click o seleccionar texto en Chrome entonces autom谩ticamente se activara la aplicaci贸n con la configuraci贸n que los usuarios le predeterminemos y mejor a煤n si es por medio de un pop-up. Y por 煤ltimo y no por ello menos importante. D) Cuando hay casos de texto que en vez de ap贸strofe utilizan comilla simple de cierre en vez de ap贸strofe por ejemplo en I鈥檓 me lo traduce a ipa como / 藞a汀瑟鈥櫵埳沵 / en vez de / 藞a汀瑟m /, algo que es muy importante en ingl茅s pues en dicho idioma se utilizan muchas contracciones como: I鈥檇, you鈥檙e, Robert鈥檚, doesn鈥檛, etc. Espero lo arreglen muy pronto para s铆 cambiar mi calificaci贸n. Esta extensi贸n se desactiv贸 porque ya no es compatible

- Hi, great extension, i use it all the time! Could you please add some shortcuts: [ < ] and [ > ] to speed up and to slow down the speed of the voice Also it would be very cool to choose favourite voices and add a shortcut to switch between them. Clicking the "voice" button and then finding the one voice you need is too slow and energy-consuming
