• (2024-02-23) Ty Wood: This extension is basically useless now. It picks up no shopping. Just a ploy by Upromise to track the shopping websites you visit and then say, oh yeah, we didn't track that purchase. You will have to provide proof. I don't have time for all that nonsense. This should be removed from the web store as it is used by Upromise to track you while not providing the promised cash back.

However, the benefit doesn't STAY on the page and if you wait too long to place an order it goes away, you don't know it, you place your order and then you don't get the benefit... so, it becomes a problem - I loose over half of my benefits that way. It is frustrating...
• (2023-12-26) Kevin Helms: In general I like using this extension because it helps me remember to claim my rewards while shopping online. However, there is one annoying thing about the extension that I wish could be changed. When I am shopping on a site for a while, the extension will appear numerous times as I look at different pages asking me to activate it even if I have already clicked on it to activate it. Sometimes this gets in the way, so I wish a solution could be developed that once you activate the discount it does not show again unless you leave the website altogether and then come back again.
• (2023-12-01) Pamm Gill Pamm: Updated 11/30/2023: Downgraded to 2 stars. I have this loaded on my Chromebook and the popup appears when doing most online shopping. I click on it to activate....often multiple times as it will reappear as I'm navigating the retailers site. The issue is that while my browsing activity is captured on my Upromise activity, my purchases are hit and miss. I had a fairly sizeable transaction at an online retailer where the cashback amount was measurable. My activity was clearly captured but my transaction was not even though I had the supporting order confirmation with the timestamp that aligned with my browsing activity. I was given the credit that I deserved but there was a clear 'tone' in the email response that they were making an exception as though I had done something wrong. Since that time, I have had other online transactions, clicked on the activate popup for cash back and have only gotten credit for one of them. I love the idea of this extension but not if i have to constantly contact support and get a message as though I've done something wrong and am asking for some favor. I love the idea of this..I want to use it, but it simply needs to work better. 1/6/2002 - I recall that there was an extension a long time ago that wasn't good at all so I removed it but then installed the latest version in the past year. So far, I think it's great. The only confusion that I have is whether or not there is a timeout on the backend. I'm one of those people who will 'activate' the cashback, add items to my cart, and then contemplate whether or not I really want the items before checking out which might take hours. If I don't check out of my cart for a long time, is the upromise cash back still going to work? I think so? Maybe? Maybe not?

Lately they want you to contact the manufacturer instead of fixing on their end - can't imagine what a pain that would be! As one of the other reviewers indicated, it would really be nice if it acknowledged that it worked after my purchase rather than allowing me to forget about it. I used to have to write down each purchase to ensure my rewards were credited; I may have to return to that custom...

• (2023-06-07) Angela Howe: Unsure about accuracy. I have only been using it a few weeks. I forgot about my Upromise Account and out of the blue I received an email. I will update the review when I see the deposits, at the end of the month. Then I will be stating the facts, and not speculating.

• (2023-05-15) Charles Saulsberry: The extension is very inconsistent. Many times the site will crash and I have to re-engage the site several times--often I continue shopping without engaging the rebate.
• (2023-05-11) George Khoury: It is a decent extension, but it doesn't always pick up all the transaction despite saying it's activated. Frustrating. There' s just no way of knowing whether a deal and/or savings has been activated. It's like a shot in the dark to know if it worked or not. Sigh.

• (2023-03-26) Chris Zurawski: It only works about 50% of the time. even if the banner says that it is active, it doesn't mean that you will be credited properly. i always have to go back and check every single purchase. constantly sending emails for missed rewards. its frustrating.
• (2023-03-16) Donna J: I like that the banner lets you know you are shopping at a store that offers Upromise credit. However, it is annoying that the banner keeps flashing at the the top of the screen, and sometimes it never indicates that the bonus is "Activated". It is unclear if you still have to go to Upromise, log in, and then start shopping again. I don't trust that I will actually receive the credit for my purchase, as I do not always receive an email notification after shopping. I've had other issues with the Upromise website for grocery and dining as well. But for the most part, Upromise is an excellent advantage, and I appreciate being able to save for my grandchildren's education.
• (2023-03-13) Lauren Steele: It rarely works. I am going through my purchases every week and I would say 1 out of 6 actually get credited to my account for my kids. I then have to submit an email saying that I am missing rewards.
• (2023-02-27) UPS STORE: It's a great addition to have, but it seems to lose connection. I clicked on it when it appeared, then a couple of minutes later it appeared again and then one more time. Each time I clicked it was like the first time, but it did work.

However, as you shop and navigate on a site, even after you click on the "Get Cash Back" button (even multiple times in the same visit), it continues to pop-up and get annoying. However, overall great extension. I use it all the time.

I don't like that it continuously refreshes. I would like an indicator of some kind to know that it's activated when I complete my purchase.

The little window comes on that says it's activated, but if you leave a website to shop around it seems to de-activate. I only seem to get the promised reward about 1/2 the time. I wish you could click on something to verify that the Upromise app is actually activated.

As for the missing credits, I find that when I am holding on to a cart for a bit, I just close the page and re-open. Usually the Upromise pop up shows up again and I proceed to checkout. Coupon codes usually don't work for me, but I at least get the cash back from the purchase.
• (2022-03-04) Ty Wood: This extension stopped crediting shopping in mid January. Called Upromise customer support today and they weren't very helpful. They told me I need to send screenshots of all my purchases to them to have them review and credit. That's probably close to 150 transactions. Why use the extension when it doesn't work? This will take me hours to do.
• (2022-02-21) Sandra Watts: The pop up can sometimes be annoying and get in the way but once you click it, it goes away and your on your way to saving money for shopping you already do. I think that is worth it. I would recommend it.

• (2022-01-10) Linda M: The extension is unreliable. If I close a different extension, it will close Upromise as well. If I shift to another page on the website, the Upromise disappears and may later pop up as a suggestion when I already thought I was linked. It's hit or miss with this one. If you make your website purchase instantly, I guess there's less of a problem. If you're shopping on the site and go to another page on the site, you lose U-promise! It's very frustrating.

It does seem to lose the connection to the web page if I am in the process of shopping different stores while trying to find the best price. I do really like the fact that it reminds me to check and see if the store I am shopping is part of Upromise.

• (2021-12-06) Home Court: Finally - Upromise Gets It Right with Extension! I've had Upromise since my 19 year old daughter was 2 and only recently (with this Chrome Extension) have I started to utilize any real savings. It's wonderful! I love the way it pops up and automatically makes me realize some savings...vs carrying around a key fob, etc. Plus, I always forgot to shop thru Upromise until this Extension came along. Thank you Upromise/Chrome...my daughter may only have 2 more years of college left, but this has certainly helped towards her savings!
• (2021-11-19) Justin Steele: I installed it thinking I wouldn't have to go to the Upromise website and it would notify me of website I didn't know about. Instead, I have had $0 credited to my kid's Upromise account. Even when I "accept" it, I went an entire quarter with hardly any activity though I was making many purchases.
• (2021-11-15) James Johnson: I am very picky with respect to what extensions I select and use within Chrome. The Upromise extension is excellent! Sometimes I will go out to a Website with intention of shopping, and the Upromise reminder pop-up, informing me that I can save money on the site via Upromise, reminds me that I can get cash back on that site--NICE! It is not "intrusive" or "invasive" as many extension tend to be. Keep up the good work, keeping your customers informed!!
